PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact amplifier of a high energy and super short light pulse.
SOLUTION: This system is achieved by a light pulse amplification and emission system consisting of a pump light source 100 which generates a light pump pulse having a preliminarily dertermined wide, a signal light source 130 generating a light signal pulse, a combining optical system 160 which receives the light pump pulse and the light signal pulse to combine them and is for supply the combined light pulses, a parametric amplifier 170 which is consisting of a quasi-phase-matched crystal amplifying the light signal pulse by using the energy of the light pump pulse while receiving the combined light pulses and an application unit which receives the amplified output of the amplifier and applies it to a clearly expressed position. Preferably, this system is composed of a chirped pulse amplification and emission system consisting of the light pulse amplification and emission system and a compressor 180 which receives the light signal pulse amplified in the parametric amplifier and compresses it.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the damage of a laser light transmission tube.
SOLUTION: A laser light transmission tube damage detection device is provided with the transmission tube 80 including a first space 122 through which laser light passes, a protection tube 78 including a second space 124 surrounding the transmission tube and a detection device (flow rate sensor) recognizing a non-connection state where the first and second spaces 122 and 124 are not connected in terms of fluid and a connection state where the first and second spaces 122 and 124 are connected in terms of fluid. It can be judged whether the first and second spaces 122 and 124 are in the connection or non-connection state from pressure, a fluid flow rate, a fluid component or a temperature.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized amplifier for ultrashort pulses of high energy. SOLUTION: This light pulse amplifying device has an excitation source 100 which generates an exciting light pulse with specific continuation, a signal source 130 which generates a signal light pulse, an optical combining means 160 which combines both the light pulses together to generate a combined light pulse, a parametric amplifier 170 having a quasi-phase matching crystal which photodetects the combined light pulse and amplifies the signal pulse with the energy of the exciting light pulse, and a compressor 180 which compresses the amplified signal pulse. The parametric amplifier 170 performs parametric chirp pulse amplification and the powerful amplification of the signal light pulse can be performed even with an exciting light pulse with low peak power, so the ultrashort light pulse with high energy is outputted from the compressor 180. |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability by reducing damage on the emitting end face of an optical fiber provided for a laser probe when evaporating a scleroid viable tissue. SOLUTION: A laser beam generation source 13 generates a pulse-shaped laser beam having the wavelength from 1.0μm to 5.5μm and emission energy from 1mJ to 2500mJ and this beam is guided through a light guide 14 to a contact type handpiece 15. A user contacts an emitting end face 17 of an optical fiber 9 of a probe 16 freely attachably and detachably fitted to the top end of the handpiece 15 with the surface of table scleroid viable tissue. Concerning the optical fiber 9, an intermediate layer having a refraction factor lower than that of a clad 26 is interposed between a core 25 and the clad and the distribution of refraction factor, in which the refraction factor of the core 25 gets larger from a central axial line toward the surroundings, is shown. The laser beam guided to the handpiece 15 is passed through the optical fiber 9 of such a probe 16 and emitted from the emitting end face 17, the diseased part is irradiated with this beam and the scleroid viable tissue of that part is evaporated. |

PURPOSE: To secure an array space of an electronic control system in a handpiece while decreasing the outer diameter thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A dental or surgical handpiece 1 operates based on laser and is provided with a light transmission body 3 for laser at the center of a joint between a supply tube 2 and the handpiece to guarantee axial rotatability between the supply tube 2 and the handpiece 1. The light transmission body 3 of the supply tube 2 is integrally extended into the handpiece 1 and, in this case, it is shifted to gradually increase in eccentricity toward the internal surface of a bent part 7 of the handpiece from a connecting part with the supply tube 2. The end part on the side of the handpiece of the light transmission body 3 is connected rotatably in the axial direction to a holder 8 of the handpiece 1.
