Disclosed is automatic visual inspection equipment of a tire in which eccentricity of a rim-assembled tire due to deformation is prevented by preventing the tire from being burdened with the load of an upper rim thereby preventing deformation of the tire due to the load of the upper rim. In the tire rim-assembling mechanism of the automatic visual inspection equipment of tire, an upper rim (20) which is fixed to the upper surface of tire (T) fixed horizontally onto a lower rim (30) is previously pulled up to the side of a main shaft (10) by means of an upper rim pull-up mechanism (an upper rim pull-up ring (12), an upper rim pull-up cylinder (14), and a shaft (16)) which is fixed to the side of a main shaft (10). Under that state, the lower rim (30) is elevated up to the upper rim (20) to fix the upper rim to the tire, and the rim-assembled tire (T) is fixed to the main shaft (10). Under this state, only the upper rim pull-up mechanism is lowered and visual inspection of the tire (T) is performed by rotating the main shaft (10). Further, a positioning means which includes a positioning pin (18) and a positioning hole (26) provided between the upper surface of an upper rim connector (24) and the lower end surface of the upper rim fixing portion (10a) of the main shaft (10).

A valve core is removed from a tire valve 3 of a wheel 2 with a tire 1 where puncture repair liquid 4 has been injected. Pressurized air filled in the tire 1 is discharged via the tire valve 3. A tube 10 is inserted through the tire valve 3 to bring the tube 10 to a liquid surface of the puncture repair liquid 4 while the pressurized air in the tire 1 is being discharged. The puncture repair liquid 4 in the tire 1 is recovered via the tube 10 using a residual pressure in the tire 1. In this manner, the puncture repair liquid can efficiently be recovered without cutting off the tire valve.

A measurement system scans the given surface of a tire component (e.g., a brush-finished tread or buffed tire casing) to electronically measure data points corresponding to vertical and horizontal coordinates along the given surface. Associated computer processors electronically calculate the slope at a plurality of different locations by determining the degree of steepness (e.g., rise over run, angle or grade) between selected ones of the first and second coordinates and electronically comparing at least one slope-based parameter to one or more predetermined levels to determine a characterization defining one or more of surface adhesion fitness, finishing brush wear level and brush bristle placement location. Slope may be determined between every adjacent pair of data points or between selected data points (e.g., identified local maximum and minimum). The at least one-slope based parameter compared to the predetermined levels may correspond to the slopes themselves or to a calculated average slope value.
