The invention further resides in a method of manufacturing an electric circuit element comprising the steps of starting with mould means defining the shape of a desired substrate, positioning within said mould means at least one electrical conductor in the form of a performed metallic strip (21-24), positioning within said mould means, in relation to said strip, a flexible printed circuit including a flexible, electrically insulating backing member (32) with a flexible conductive track (25-27) exposed on one face thereof, the positioning of the strip and the flexible printed circuit in said mould means being such that after moulding said strip and said track will be exposed on the moulded substrate, and introducing synthetic resin material into said mould means to form said substrate (11).

SOLUTION: The stationary side contact 10 is provided in a stationary member 2 fixed to the vehicle body of an automobile. In a movable member 5 movably supported by the stationary member 2 disposed face to face with the stationary side contact 10, the movable side contact 11 is provided on the surface facing the stationary member 2. The movable side contact 11 intermittently has portions making contact with the stationary side contact 10 along the moving direction of the movable member 5. The movable member 5 is connected to the automatic transmission and rotationally moves in accordance with the switching operation of a shift lever, and thereby the stationary side contact 10 is brought into contact with and separated from the movable side contact 11. The movable side contact 11 is positioned and fixed to the movable member 5, and a coil spring 17 to energize the stationary side contact 10 against the movable side contact 11 is provided in the stationary member 2. The connecting unit 12 is formed with lead wire guide groove parts SGS1 -SGL4 for guiding each lead wire LS1 -LL4 , which form a harness 3, and a right end of these groove parts SGS1 -SGL4 is formed with each welding window WS1 -WL4 for exposing the contacts TS1 -TL4 outside. Lead wires LS1 -LL4 , of which coating in a tip thereof is peeled, of the harness 3 is inserted into the groove parts SGS1 -SGL4 so that an exposed core thereof contracts with contacts TS1 -TL4 of the window WS1 -WL4 positions, and welding is performed.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attach a lever any time on either side of a case or a base. SOLUTION: Shaft holes 12, 22 are provided in a switch case 10 having an approximately fan-shaped recessed part 11 and the main part of each fan of a fixed contact base for closing this recessed part and respective corresponding ends of the shaft holder 40 are rotatably engaged therewith respectively. Positioning holes 18, 27 which penetrate through the corresponding positions are provided in the switch case 10 and the fixed contact base 20. In relation to these shaft holes 12, 22 and the positioning holes 18, 27, either side of the switch case 10 or the fixed contact base 20 is set to a jig 80. The lever 72 can be thus attached from either side.
