PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high strength cement and concrete by imparting a sizing agent comprising an alkali-decomposable and/or alkali-soluble resin to fibers to control the dispersibility of the fibers in cement and concrete. SOLUTION: An alkali-decomposable and/or alkali-soluble sizing agent is stuck to fibers, alkali-proof coated fibers or a bundle of such fibers to obtain the objective bundle-shaped fibers for reinforcing cement and concrete materials. The alkali-decomposable sizing agent is preferably alkyd resin or the like and the alkali-soluble sizing agent is preferably a carboxy-containing polymer or the like. The preferably coating weight of the sizing agent is 1-70 wt.% of the weight of the fibers and that of an alkali-proof resin such as epoxy resin is 1-100 wt.%. The fiber length of the reinforcing fibers is 2-500 mm and the fibers are mixed in cement and concrete materials by 0.1-2.0 wt.%. The fibers split after dispersion in a slurry and the slurry having a uniformly dispersed state is obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily contain a molded product that has uniform physical properties and stabilized mechanical strength in a shortened time by soaking its intermediate molded product comprising a thermoplastic resin and hydraulic cement in a mixture of an organic solvent with water. SOLUTION: In this invention, the thermoplastic resin is not particularly limited, any kinds of thermoplastic resins may be employed, for example, polyethylene or polypropylene. The cement is mainly a hydraulic cement as usual portland cement. The organic solvent is one or more kinds of organic solvents that can swell or dissolve thermoplastic resins, in the case that two or more kinds of organic solvent are used as a mixture, their mixing ratio is selected so that the mixture may be well compatible with water. Tetrahydrofuran and the like can be cited as an organic solvent that is compatible with water. Polyvinyl chloride and acetone can be cited as an example of' the combination of the resin with the solvent. The weight ratio of the resin to the cement is 100:(50-900).

PURPOSE:To obtain the forming composition excellent in mold releasability in forming, having moderate elasticity and with the surface appearance and touch resembling bark or wooden board by incorporating a specified aq. resin emulsion, hydraulic inorg. cement powder, foamed body grains and non-hydraulic inorg. powder into the composition in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. (based on solid resin) of an aq. emulsion of a resin (e.g. 2-ethylhexyl acrylate) having <=5 deg.C glass transition temperature, 140-300 pts.wt. of hydraulic inorg. cement powder, 20-120 pts.wt. of foamed body grains (e.g. SHIRASU balloons) and 0-200 pts.wt. of a non-hydraulic inorg. powder (e.g. inorg. coloring pigment) are mixed to obtain the forming composition. Water is added to the composition to obtain the slurry, the slurry is poured into a mold having bark-like ruggedness and pattern and pressed by the upper die and formed, and the formed body is then hardened.
