<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent ornament which can emit metallic luster with a moderate transparent feel and allows easy modification to make a structure on the back-surface side hardly visible. <P>SOLUTION: As a transparent ornament, a radiator grille 11 includes an acrylic base material 21 allowing transmission of visible light, the first decorative layer 22 covering the front surface of the base material 21 and the second decorative layer 23 covering the back surface of the base material 21. The first and second decorative layers 22 and 23, respectively, allow transmission of visible light and have a thickness smaller than the wavelengths of visible light. The first and second decorative layers 22 and 23 are preferably different in at least one characteristic selected from nature of the material, the number of layers, thickness and the refractive index, reflection factor, absorption factor and transmittance for visible light. A mask related to the substrate demarcates at least the masked and unmasked portions, with the unmasked portion allowing the passage of more light than the unmasked portion. The finish extends over both the masked and unmasked portions, concealing the visible difference between these portions while the illumination source is in the non-illuminated state. When the illumination source is in the illuminated state, light passes though the unmasked portion and the finish, thereby showing a visible difference between the masked and unmasked portions. Thereby excellent wear resistance is obtained while favorably maintaining weathering properties. PURPOSE:To facilitate the installation of a decorative body on a curved face or into a groove by curing a liquid form transparent plastic layer to form a flexible base body and providing a decorative film on the bottom face of said base body. CONSTITUTION:A curable liquid form transparent plastic is made to flow on a non-viscous body 16 forming a transparent plastic layer 12b, which is heated and cured by an ultraviolet lamp 18 to form a flexible base body 12. Then, the flexible base body 12 is separated off of the non-viscous body 16 and a decorative film 14 is provided on the bottom face of the base body 12 by means of a silk screen printing. Accordingly, the form of a decorative body 10 by this method can be varied, thereby, preventing the occurrence of floating up, separation, etc. while facilitating installation on a curved face or in a narrow groove. Also, since the flexible base body 12 functions as a convex lens, the pattern of the decorative film 14 is emphatically seen giving a favorable decorative effect.
