A plate featuring a series of profiles (1) or grooves (201) and equipped with locking means (2,226) having support pins (7, 207) designed to accept the hollow post (18) of a series of vices (3,17). The locking means (2, 226) are able to slide, be positioned, locked in place and moved along the profiles (1) or grooves (201), and to support the vices (3,17) by means of the pins (7, 207). By acting upon the manoeuvring screws (10) or threaded rods (210) one is able to set up a line of support pins (7, 207) according to the shape of the structure (5) to be produced, and thus, by inserting the hollow posts (18) of the vices (7, 13) upon the support pins (7, 207) one is able to clamp the materials being worked upon (4) so that they conform to the preset shape. One is able to repeat this operation without limit, the hollow posts (18) of the vices (17) being easily withdrawn such that the product, together with the tightened vices, may be removed from the plate immediately. The plate can be reused for other mouldings, since the support pins (7, 207) can be repositioned by acting upon the mounting means (2, 226). One is able to produce mouldings for curved structures made in sections by setting up a line of support pins (7, 207) for the first section of the design of the moulding to be produced, carrying over the position of the fast two support pins (7, 207) for successive sections, inserting the relevant hollow posts (18) of the vices upon them, and thus obtaining a solution to the problem of continuity. In this way one has a single piece of equipment offering high versatility, being suited to unit or mass production, and for use in either the crafts workshop or in industry, bringing benefits of both a quantitative and qualitative nature. |

The present invention concerns a method for shaping a solid wood item (1), and a structure comprising such a solid wood item, where the solid wood item is worked and fixed in a given shape. The cutouts may typically be a machined cutout at both sides of a solid wood item, where the solid wood item may be a rod-shaped or plate-shaped item, or provided with another shape. By making two or more cutouts, the strength of the wood item is weakened so much that it may be shaped more easily, in that the cross-sectional area subjected to bending is reduced. Hence, deformations in the form of tension and compression in the fibres of the solid wood item are not so great since the cross-section is minimised. |
