PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a height-adjusting device for the leg parts of chairs, desks, tables, hangers, and the like. SOLUTION: A height-fixing device selects a height by allowing an inner support cylinder 20 to be inserted to an inner part at the upper end of an outer support cylinder 10 and moves vertically, wherein a height-fixing device 50 constituted so that the inner support cylinder is fixed to the outer support cylinder at the desired height of the outer support cylinder by tightening bolts 17 with nuts 70 between the inner support cylinder and the outer support cylinder and simultaneously the height of the fixed inner support cylinder is not varied so as to maintain as it is even with the elapse of long time, is included. Thereby, not only the height of leg parts is easily adjustable, but also the adjusted height can be fixed as it is even with the elapse of long time, and the structure is simplified so as to improve inconvenience in use due to frequent breakdown or malfunction of the conventional height-adjusting device, and as a result, productivity and reliability of the height-adjusting device are enhanced so as to allow a good image to be given to consumers. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair leg cover capable of preventing the top of a chair leg from moving inside the chair leg cover by attaching the cover closely to the whole top part of the chair leg, extending the life of the inner bottom part (e.g. a cushion member) of the chair leg cover, preventing the chair leg cover from being detached from the chair leg almost permanently, and improving the durability of the connection between a pedestal part and a covering member. SOLUTION: The cover is structured to cover the top part of the chair leg. The cover consists of the pedestal part in contact with a floor surface, and the circular-knitted cylindrical covering member attached to the upper surface of the pedestal part directly or indirectly, whose top is open as a chair leg insertion hole. The circular knitting is formed by the rib stitch with a large elasticity in the longitudinal direction and especially, in the cross direction of the knitting fabric.
