A system includes a control device including an actuator, a movement of which is adapted to cause a movement of an actuator plunger; and a switching element. The switching element includes a switch slide adapted to follow a movement of the actuator plunger; a first terminal and a second terminal; contacting members adapted to connect the first terminal to the second terminal; and contact breaking member adapted to disconnect the first terminal from the second terminal in response to an inward displacement of the switch slide exceeding a first distance. The switching element further includes a jump system, responsive to displacement of the switch slide, adapted to bring the contacting members together to connect the first terminal to the second terminal if the inward displacement of the switch slide exceeds a second distance that is less than the first distance.

The invention relates to a safety switch unit (1) for electrically controlled machines for use in combination with the actual control elements of the machine control system in a hand-held application or for manual control, with at least one operating element which is displaced relative to a mounting frame (8) in accordance with the switching function desired by a user, which is designed to change the switch status of at least one electric switch element, the safety switch unit (1) having at least one switch position which is maintained only as long as a sufficiently high operating force is applied to the displaceable operating elements. Two operating elements for at least one respective electric switch element (14, 15) can be displaced in translation or rotation to a limited degree relative to the mounting frame (8) about a respective pivot axis of two pivot bearings and provide a substantially translating or straight operating movement of the safety switch unit (1) by means of a push button unit (2) which is disposed in front of the two operating elements by reference to the operating direction—arrow (13)—of the safety switch unit (1).

A manually operable, electrical operating member having two key buttons for the respective switching-on and switching-off of the current, which key buttons are arranged on mutually opposite sides and can be operated in several steps. A common, mechanically operable switch is provided with which the key buttons are each in an operative connection.

There are provided, together with two microswitches 20 accommodated in a cylindrical compartment 13, a manipulation member 2 which can freely swing about a pivot portion 2a in the directions of arrows A and B, a transmission member 3 which can freely move in reciprocating motion within a specific range between a transmitting position and a non-transmitting position located along a radial direction of an arc which is the trajectory of the swing motion of the manipulation member 2 in the directions of the arrows A and B, a contact member 4 which can freely move in reciprocating motion within a specific range between an exposed position and a retracted position in the directions of arrows E and F, a driven member 5 which can freely move in reciprocating motion in the directions of arrows G and H, and a restricting part 6 fixed at a position opposing the contact member 4. The swing motion of the manipulation member 2 in the direction of the arrow B up to a point where the manipulation member 2 goes into contact with the restricting part 6 is transmitted to the microswitches 20 via the transmission member 3 and the driven member 5, and the swing motion of the manipulation member 2 in the direction of the arrow B is not transmitted to the microswitches 20 after the contact member 4 has gone into contact with the restricting part 6. This arrangement makes it possible to achieve improved operability of an enable switch, enhanced safety with the provision of multiple contact mechanisms, and easier installation of the enable switch on a portable operator panel.

A push-button switch and a teaching pendant employing the same are provided. The push-button switch ensures that a push button is capable of switching ON/OFF the switch if one of contacts thereof should fail during an operation of the switch. For achieving this object, a switch case 3 contains two c-contacts 9a, 9b each having a snap action configuration and switching mechanisms 11a, 11b for opening/closing the c-contacts 9a, 9b. When a push button 5 is depressed, the switching mechanisms 11a, 11b simultaneously open/close the c-contacts 9a, 9b for turning ON/OFF a push-button switch 1.

The invention relates to a safety switching device (1) for electrically controlled machines, for use in combination with the control elements of the machine control-system itself during manual operation, in which the multi-action safety switching device (1) has several channels or several switching circuits (7, 8) and the switching circuits have at least one operating element (2, 3) which can be adjusted by an operator depending on the desired switching function. Each switching circuit (7, 8) has at least one position-sensing device (14, 15), comprising in particular contactless detection devices (16, 17) for detecting, at any time, the position (4 to 6) of the operating elements (2, 3) corresponding to the respective switching stages, which can be adjusted by the operator.

A trigger switch for use with hand held power tools includes a trigger which is movable in response to finger pressure thereon. A pair of normally open switch contacts are closed when finger pressure in excess of a first threshold pressure is applied to the trigger. In the event the applied finger pressure exceeds a second, greater threshold pressure, the switch contacts are opened to deactuate the tool. An insulating member shields the switch contacts when the second threshold pressure is exceeded to prevent closure of the contacts upon release of the trigger. A second set of switch contacts, closable in response to finger pressure in excess of the second threshold, may be provided to control actuation of an electrical tool brake mechanism.

SOLUTION: By electrically connecting a c contact point and a normally closed contact point of a push button switch 5 provided on a switch case 3 to a terminal block 9 via a conductor 39, inserting core tip parts 23 of a cable 7 introduced into the switch case 3 into insertion holes 49a, 49b formed in the terminal block 9, and fastening screws 53a, 53b provided for the terminal block 9, the core tip part 23 is pressed against a conductive connection part in one of the insertion holes 49a, 49b and electrically connected.
36 | Emergency stop switch mechanism for robot and teaching control panel equipped with switch mechanism | JP25267797 | 1997-09-03 | JPH1177579A | 1999-03-23 | TERADA AKIHIRO; YASUMURA MITSUHIRO; NAKAO SHINSUKE |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a three position type emergency stop switch mechanism for robot with a simple structure, and a teaching control panel equipped with the switch mechanism. SOLUTION: In the operation starting time of a robot, a button L is moved from the OFF condition (a) to the condition (b) by applying a normal operating external force overcoming the spring conversion force S1 to an operation surface La, and the movable contact point element ME of a contact point mechanism CM is made in the ON position by an action head Lh. In this condition, the robot can move. In order to stop the robot in an emergent condition, the operating external force is released from the condition (b) to returen it to the condition (a), or a specific operating external force overcoming the resultant force of spring conversion forces S1 and S2 is applied to depress the button L further, to make into the condition (c). In either case, the OFF condition is realized and the robot is stopped instantly. The switch mechanism for emergency stopping is provided at one or more adequate positions (the side, the corner, the rear side, and the like) of a teaching control panel. In this case, a mechanism to move by rotating the action head Lh may be applied.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 3-position deadman switch which will not be in an ON state even for a moment, when it is restored to an initial state from an emergency stop state. SOLUTION: With the deadman switch provided with a case 17, a switch 14 fitted to the case 17, a rotating lever 12 for pushing the switch 14, and a pressing plate 11 for pressing the rotating lever 12, of which, the switch 14 is in an open state at an initial state when the pressing plate 11 is not pressed, the rotating lever 12 closes the switch 14 at a shallow first pressing position of the pressing plate 11, and the rotting lever 12 opens the switch 14 at a deep second pressing position of the pressing plate 11, it is so structured that the rotating lever 12 shall not press the switch 14 when the pressing plate 11 returns to the initial state from the second pressing position through the first pressing position.
