PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a sliding contact by which the manufacturing yield of the sliding contact is high, and end surfaces of claws of a brush in the sliding contact can surely be smoothed.
SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method of the sliding contact having metallic brushes whose ends are in touch with an object to be joined, after the ends of claws 12a' of a sliding contact piece 10' are melted, the ends are solidified in gas to smooth end surfaces of the claws 12a'. For example, if the sliding contact is manufactured by punching a thin metallic plate, the ends of the claws 12a' of the brush 12' of the sliding contact piece 10' obtained by punching are heated and melted by irradiating the ends with a laser beam. Thereby, keen-edged portions or burrs formed before melting are removed. As the ends of the claws 12a' are solidified in the gas after melting, the sliding contact is manufactured so as to have the brush equipped with claws whose end surfaces are smoothly curved.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
