An automatic optical sighting system generates at least one adjustment for an adjustable optical system based on at least one detected condition, an appropriate dynamic model of a projectile in flight, and a solution of the equations of motion in flight, so that the projectile will have a trajectory between an origin and a selected target that helps the projectile to hit the target.

The pedal assembly (10) may be modular and readily adaptable for use on vehicles and utility vehicles having either an electric motor drive system or an internal combustion engine drive system. Thus, in some embodiments the module includes a base (11), a plurality of pedals (13, 14) coupled to the base (11), and an output regulator (16) coupled to the base (11). Other embodiments disclose a parking brake engagement assembly (44) comprising a toothed element (53), an engagement element (50) selectively engageable with the toothed element (53), and an arm (52) to the control the engagement between the toothed element (53) and the engagement element (50). Yet other embodiments disclose a non-contact sensor (88) coupled to the brake system (13) to selectively illuminate the brake lamps (8) of a vehicle or utility vehicle. Further embodiments disclose a timer (01) coupled to the brake system to selectively illuminate the brake lamps (8).

The control includes:

  • a body (15) carrying electrical switch means (30, 21, 22) which are operable as a result of the movement of a control lever (30) which is movable relative to the body (15),
  • a support casing (4) which can be fixed near the steering wheel (1) and defines a seat in which the body (15) is movable, and
  • disconnectible retaining means (16, 18) for retaining the body (15) in a position selected from a plurality of possible positions relative to the casing (4), each position corresponding, in use, to a different position of the control lever (30) relative to the steering wheel (1).

47 Positive-positioning knob assembly EP87309450 1987-10-26 EP0271982A3 1988-09-21 Gorsek, Edmund John

A positive-positioning knob assembly comprises a knob body (20) having a substantially hollow interior portion and a pinion member (34) non-rotatably mounted relative to a shaft (16) to be rotated by the knob assembly. Cooperating selectively interengageable and disengageable locking members (40, 42) are located on the pinion member (34) and the hollow body (20) interior respectively for alternatively permitting the body (20) to rotate freely of the pinion member (34) when the locking members (40, 42) are in a disengaged condition, and for locking the body (20) non-rotatably relative to the pinion (34) when the locking members (40, 42) are in an engaged condition. A resilient biasing member (50) normally holds the locking members (40, 42) in the engaged condition to prevent rotation of the knob body (20); however, the resilient biasing member (50) is resiliently deformable for permitting the locking members (40, 42) to move to the disengaged condition to permit rotation of the knob body (20).

On the engaging tooth (17a) of a ratchet plate (17) of a parking brake device, there are a first region (S1) wherein the pawl (19c) of a ratchet pole (19) makes contact and is stopped in a balanced state when the parking break is loosened after being pulled up while a release rod is pushed, and a second region (S2) wherein the pawl is stopped in a half-engaged state near the tip of the tooth when the release rod pushing force is removed. Because the load line of force (F1) is thereby maintained by the release rod pressing force when the pawl (19c) makes contact closer to the tip of the engaging tooth (17a) than the first region (S1), the pawl (19c) sliding over the engaging tooth (17a) and becoming half-engaged near the tooth tip is prevented without becoming half-engaged near the tip of the tooth in the second region (S2). The occurrence of a half-engaged state near the tip of the tooth of the ratchet mechanism can be reliably prevented even when a rider mistakenly pulls up the parking break lever to the actuated position while pushing the release rod.

An actuating device is provided that includes an actuating element ( 1 ) with at least three switching positions. The actuating device ( 1 ) can be deflected starting from its basic positions at least in one direction into an intermediate switching position for selecting an operating state of the technical system. For selecting at least one other operating state of the technical system, the actuating element ( 1 ) can be deflected, starting from an intermediate switching position, into at least one other switching position that is located farther away from the basic position. The undesired jumping of the actuating element over intermediate switching positions, during switching, is effectively prevented from occurring. An intuitively detectable tactile feedback of the switching state of the actuating element or of the state of the system is provided.
