PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a step-by-step shift of a rotary shaft clear by arranging outwardly extending second and third wheels drivingly engaged with a plurality of radially extending lobes arranged in a wheel and circumferentially spaced about its axis of rotation on both sides and specifying a relationship between the ribs of the second and third wheels and the lobes in a first wheel. SOLUTION: A first wheel 26 of an assembly is provided with radially extending lobes 28 formed at uniform intervals in the outer circumference. The lobes 28 are engaged with a second wheel 34 having a series of ribs 36 separated by uniformly spaced semicylindrical recess parts 38, while in the second wheel 34, its longitudinal axial line is perpendicular to the rotation axis of the first wheel 26, and a third wheel 60 is positioned and supported coaxially around the axial line. The ribs 36 in the second wheel 34 are related to the lobes 28 in the first wheel 26 so that driving rotation between the first wheel 26 and the second wheel 34 requires a relative movement between both wheels away from each other in the direction perpendicular to the first axial line.

Regulating device (1), comprising a main body (10) with a cylindrical portion (12) in which a regulating organ (14) is at least partially set, and a regulating knob (16) which is fitted to said cylindrical portion and can be shifted axially with regard to the latter from an unlocked position, in which it is free to rotate, and an angular locked position. In the external surface of the cylindrical portion there is at least one transversal notch (24) that can be engaged by a padlock hook (26). In the lateral wall of the knob there is at least one pair of apertures (28), close and aligned circumferentially in such a way as to define a through hole for the hook of said padlock, said transversal notch and said pair of apertures being aligned when the knob is in the angular locking position in such a way as to allow a padlock hook inserted into the through hole of the knob to engage the transversal notch of the cylindrical portion, axially locking the knob.
10 Rolling detent mechanism EP96107124.8 1996-05-06 EP0743587A3 1997-06-04 Shifflett, Dennis

A rotary detent mechanism comprises a first wheel (26) having a plurality of radially extending lobes (28) circumferentially spaced about its axis of rotation. Second (34) and third wheels (60) each having outwardly extending ribs spaced for driving engagement with the lobes of the first wheel are positioned on opposite sides thereof. The ribs of the second and third wheels are related to the lobes of the first wheel such that driving rotation between the first wheel and the second and third wheels requires relative movement of the wheels toward and away from one another in a direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the first wheel. A drive member (20) is provided for selectively rotating one of the wheels and a spring assembly (80) is provided for biasing the wheels toward one another in a direction perpendicular to the first axis.
