A cable having an anti-rattle feature which is integrally formed of the cable casing at the time of forming of the cable casing. The integrated cable casing with anti-rattle feature is composed of a cable casing and a plurality of longitudinal fins radially emanating therefrom, wherein the cable casing and the longitudinal fins are formed simultaneously. According to a method of manufacture of the integrated cable casing with anti-rattle feature, a plastic forming apparatus includes an extrusion opening configured to simultaneously extrude the cable casing with the longitudinal fins.
142 Rotary pawl glove box latch US11686568 2007-03-15 US07823937B2 2010-11-02 Fabrice Vitry
A slam to close, glove box latch includes a housing, a paddle structure connected to rotate on the housing, a rotary pawl mounted to rotate in the housing, and a lock plate carried by the paddle structure to selectively engage the rotary pawl to inhibit its movement. The rotary pawl is spring biased to the open position. The paddle structure is spring biased to the closed position. The paddle structure includes guideways in which the lock plate operates. When the paddle is moved to the open position, the pawl is released to rotate open and the lock plate is carried to an interference-friction position with the pawl whereby the paddle is held in the open position. When the pawl is closed by the slam action of the latch, the interference-friction with the lock plate is released and the paddle structure returns to the closed position. Biasing is limited to two springs. The volume (envelope) of the latch is minimized.
143 Vehicle Outer Handle System US12058286 2008-03-28 US20080246293A1 2008-10-09 Hiroto Fujiwara; Yuho Otsuta; Kyoutarou Yoshii
In a vehicle outer handle system including a circuit board which includes an electric part and which is contained in an operating handle, the operating handle is die-formed of a synthetic resin in such a manner that a protecting means covering the circuit board is mold-coupled to the operating handle. Thus, a special water-proofing counter measure is not required, leading to a reduction in number of operating steps and a reduction in number of parts. Further, the generation of an abnormal sound during operation of the operating handle is prevented.

A base member is fixed to a rear surface of a door panel for a vehicle. A grip member is supported on the base member in a tiltable manner. The grip member is arranged on the base member from a front surface of the door panel. A pivot shaft is arranged on the grip member. A shaft supporting member supports the pivot shaft with respect to the base member so that the pivot shaft can pivot relative to the base member. As a result, the grip member is ensurely prevented from becoming loose with respect to the base member in a longitudinal direction of the grip member.

146 Latch assembly US10683471 2003-10-09 US20040094970A1 2004-05-20 Sidney Edward Fisher
A latch bolt engages a striker to releasably secure a first door to a vehicle body or a second door by relative displacement of the latch towards said striker. The latch bolt moves in a first plane to releasably retain the striker. The assembly includes a wedge arrangement that substantially prevents relative movement between the latch and the striker a direction perpendicular to the first plane when in a latched condition. The wedge arrangement includes first and second lateral abutment surfaces mounted on the latch. The wedge arrangements are positioned on either side of the latch bolt in a direction perpendicular to the first plane for engagement with cooperating surfaces of the striker.
147 Motor vehicle door lock with an electromechanical central locking system drive US10456902 2003-06-09 US20040012352A1 2004-01-22 Checrallah Kachouh; Peter Bartel; Ingmar Hentsch
A motor vehicle door lock with an electromechanical central locking system drive (1) and a mechanical central locking system element (2) driven by it, the central locking system drive (1) having an electric drive motor (3) and a motor control (5) with a motor state sensor (6). The central locking system element (2) can be moved by the central locking system drive (1) at least into a locked position and the motor control (5) is designed such that it triggers the electric drive motor (3) for driving the central locking system element (2) into the locked position after receiving an actuation signal from an actuation unit, such as a closing cylinder, a locking button, a remote control receiving unit or a handle (inside door handle, outside door handle). Preferably, the motor control 5 is also designed such that it automatically triggers the electric drive motor (3) for driving the central locking system element (2) into the locked position as soon as a certain operating state of the motor vehicle has been reached. Furthermore, significantly, the motor control (5) has a control circuit that includes the motor state sensor (6) and this control circuit is designed such that, when the electric drive motor (3) is triggered, the electric drive motor (3) runs with a low rpm that is controlled using the signal of the motor state sensor (6).
148 Power-actuated motor-vehicle door latch US10233261 2002-08-30 US20030062727A1 2003-04-03 Uwe Reddmann
A motor-vehicle door latch has a housing, a lock fork pivotal on the housing between open and closed positions, a latch pawl pivotal on the housing and engageable with the fork in the closed position to retain it therein and disengageable from the fork to allow to move from the closed to the open position, and an opening lever coupled to the latch pawl and displaceable between an actuated position displacing the latch pawl out of engagement with the fork and an unactuated position with the latch pawl engageable with the fork. A rotary drive couplable to the opening lever can displace it between its actuated and unactuated positions. Structure engageable between the fork and the opening lever decouples the opening lever from the drive on displacement of the fork from the open to the closed position.
149 Vehicle door handle device US10042309 2002-01-11 US20020089194A1 2002-07-11 Morihito Nomura; Kouji Ooe; Kouichi Nagata; Atsushi Kamiya; Yoshimasa Suzuki
A vehicle door handle device includes a frame equipped on a vehicle door panel and a handgrip mounted on the frame and rotatable about a rotation center portion at one end portion of the handgrip. A second end portion of the handgrip forms an operation portion linked with a door lock mechanism. The handgrip is adapted to be rotated within a predetermined angle around the rotation center portion to operate the door lock mechanism when the operation portion is pulled away from the frame. A restriction mechanism is also provided to restrict chattering and/or dislocation of the handgrip from the frame. The restriction mechanism includes a projection and a groove provided between the frame and the handgrip. The projection is slidable in the groove during rotation of the handgrip and is able to contact a boundary of the groove in the inserting direction of the handgrip.
150 Hood and decklid latch assemblies US505433 1995-07-21 US5618069A 1997-04-08 Jeffrey L. Konchan; David Kowalczyk; John F. Reelhorn; Dennis F. Saxton
The present invention generally includes a latch assembly including a completely symmetrical metal frame and a polymeric isolation plate mounted between the frame and levers. The polymeric isolation plate is not symmetrical but serves as a templet to assure that only the proper holes are being used on the metal frame for either right-hand or left-hand drive latch assemblies. The polymeric isolation plate also includes integral cylindrical bushings. Detent and fork-bolt levers are trapped onto the respective bushings by metal rivets so that the levers actually rotate on the low friction bushings and not on the metal rivets. The isolator plate includes an integral flange which is interposed between the striker of the vehicle and the throat of the frame to avoid rubbing metal-to-metal contact, to protect the throat, frame and striker and for quieter operation. A rivet for holding a secondary lever has an enlarged flattened head which minimizes bypass of the fork-bolt and detent lever while also supporting the secondary lever. The enlarged flattened head eliminates the need for a cover plate to minimize bypass of the detent and fork-bolt lever. The latch can be used for a hood latch assembly, or a decklid latch assembly wherein the secondary lever is not required, and is designed to be built on a common set of asm equipment for right- and left-drive and hood/decklid versions.
