The anti-theft device has a receiving portion and a key portion. The receiving portion of the anti-theft device receives a head of the attachment device. The key portion has a key arrangement provided on thereon.
63 Theft deterrent full-face wheel cover US09522024 2000-03-09 US06325461B1 2001-12-04 Gregory R. Hauler
A wheel cover retention system includes a wheel having lug studs extending through the wheel, with lug nuts fastened to the lug studs to retain the wheel to the vehicle. A full-face wheel cover includes a base portion having an inboard surface thereon and lug nut passages extending therethrough, and further includes lug towers circumferentially spaced and integral with the base portion. Each of the lug towers is concentric with each of the lug nut passages and extends axially inwardly from the inboard surface of the base portion thereby terminating in an inboard end. Each lug tower is slotted to define cantilevered fingers thereon. A groove located inside each lug tower positively fixes the axial position of each of the lug towers on each of the lug nuts. Upon mounting the full-face wheel cover to the lug nuts, each of the cantilevered fingers is cantilevered radially outwards to respectively snap onto and over the flange of each of the lug nuts whereby the groove fixes the axial position of each of the lug towers to prevent overtravel of the cantilevered fingers during assembly of the full-face wheel cover to the lug nuts. The present invention also includes a method of manufacturing the wheel cover.
64 Hub strap US249336 1994-05-27 US5529386A 1996-06-25 George M. Walters
A hub strap is provided to secure a wheel cover, having narrow openings to a wheel rim having slots for a tire mounted thereto. The hub strap consists of a belt to extend through two slots in the wheel rim and two narrow openings in the wheel cover. An assembly is for connecting opposite ends of the belt together in a removable manner. The belt will secure the wheel cover to the wheel rim to eliminate loss and damage to the wheel cover.
65 Rallye wheel hubcap retaining device US512521 1990-03-26 US5018794A 1991-05-28 Glenn W. Oliver
A rallye wheel hub cab retaining device is provided for securing the hub cap to the vehicle's wheel lug, whereby deterring theft of the hub cap. A fixed length of cable is secured to the hub cap on one end by means of four stud terminals, each secured to the existing bolts of the cap. The opposite end, fitted with a loop and "S" hook, is bolted to the wheel lug, and held fast by the wheel lug nut. The relatively simple device secures the hub cap to the wheel, yet still allows enough slack to gain access to the wheel nuts. The device is short enough to safely allow the cap to rotate with the wheel, without striking the vehicle's fender well, should the cap come loose from the rim.
66 Automobile medallion anti-theft locking device US355998 1989-05-23 US4986606A 1991-01-22 John V. Thomas
Anti-theft locking device for securing a wheel medallion having a grease cap well to the wheel of a vehicle. The device is utilized with a conventional wheel medallion of the type having spring retainers that protrude from the body of the medallion and extend into an opening and into a recess in the hub of the wheel. Further, the spring retainers have clips that are configured to pass into the opening and abut the recess of the wheel. A medallion locking cup is provided that is smaller than the medallion well and which is configured to fit therein. The cup has spring retainer openings to allow the clips to flex for mounting and removing the medallion and cup onto the wheel. The cup has an abutting wall portion adjacent the spring retaining opening and the cup is rotated from inside the wheel to lock the medallion and cup onto the wheel with the abutting wall portions abutting the clips.
67 Trim member for a vehicle wheel US461616 1983-01-27 US4458952A 1984-07-10 Edwin E. Foster; Thomas E. Foster
A vehicle wheel trim member has a round spring steel ring mounted on the inboard face thereof adapted to engage in grooves in the wheel mounting lug nuts or the studs on which they are threaded to releasably retain the trim member on the wheel. The ring is dimensioned to be flexed radially into non-circular shape and thereby assume a stressed condition when engaged in the grooves. The ring is mounted on the trim member such that the retention forces generated by the flexed ring are absorbed entirely by the studs and not by the trim member. Distortion and warpage of the trim member is thus avoided.
68 Automotive vehicle wheel cover locking means US95213 1979-11-19 US4280348A 1981-07-28 Richard E. Teston

72 Wheel trims or wheel covers US3663065D 1969-08-01 US3663065A 1972-05-16 CROMPTON GEOFFREY
A detachable wheel trim for a vehicle wheel, having anchorage hooks for attachment to the wheel, operable from the external side of the trim. In one form three anchorage hooks are connected to a triangular arrangement of three resilient steel links fitting over a triangular cam connected to a rotary knob on the external surface of the trim, so that by rotating the knob and the cam the three links are bent outwardly to cause a resilient inward force to be applied to each hook, alternatively the three links may be combined into a continuous hoop, and the rotary triangular cam may be replaced by an axially movable cam. Two or more pairs of parallel links may be used instead of a triangular system and in place of a cam the links may be operated by levers connected to a rotary or axially movable central shaft connected to the external knob.
