PURPOSE: To make it possible to position mechanical parts including an active center point onto a work point far away from a main body of a manipulator device repeatedly, by constituting the manipulator mechanism from multiple rigid links connected by pivots. CONSTITUTION: In the device made of two parts, that is, a central part and a tip end, there are multiple rigid links 1-7. The links position an instrument such as a surgical instrument 11 into a work point Cmot by rotating the links with centering around pivots A-K. The central part of the device is mounted adjustably on a fixed body such as an operation table 22. The tip part of the device supports the surgical instrument. The tip part of the device can be moved against the central part by movement of the links that can control several lengths. That is, the work point and an action radius of a manipulator can be varied without moving the central part of the device. The links are rotated with centering around the pivot by an actuator 9 of manual or remote (computer) controlling type, to adjust the length of the adjustable links.

PURPOSE:To enable a master arm to be operated three-dimesionally with same feeling for improving the maneuverability by disposing a balancing weight and a drive motor to equalizing approximately the omnidirectional inertia of hand end within the operational region of the arm. CONSTITUTION:An arm twisting DD motor 20, wrist twisting DD motor 21 and wrist bending DD motor 22 are disposed on a clamp portion (wrist) 16 on an end of the upper arm in a master arm to make the wrist heavy. A weight 23 is mounted on a horizontal link 14 in the master arm for balancing, while a balancing weight 24 is also mounted on the lower arm 12 to make approximately gravity torque zero around each rotary shaft of the master arm, while equalizing approximately the omnidirectional inertia of hand end within the operational range of the arm.

PURPOSE:To reduce sense of fatigue at the time of operation by applying a torque to a master manipulator directed upward at all times when the attitude of one's own arm is to be held constant, and allowing the arm of the operator to be placed upon a master arm. CONSTITUTION:The output from an angle sensing means 3 is entered into a computer 10, and at an own weight torque calculating means 4, the target value for the torque due to own weight of each shaft of a master arm 1 is determined on the assumption that the value of compensative acceleration alphais greater than the acceleration g of the gravity. As a result an upward directed force is generated to the master arm 1, and when the operator wishes to keep his arm in constant attitude during operation of the master arm 1, he can put his own arm on the master arm 1 to lead to reduction of fatigue at the time of operation. |
