PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a casting sand regeneration device capable of effectively removing a binder and the like adhering to recovered and used casting sand, and a casting sand regeneration method.SOLUTION: Used casting sand is supplied to a rotor 16 from a sand supply chute 14A. The rotor 16 is rotated by a driving force of a drive unit 20, and a frictional force is imparted to the sand inside the rotor 16. Subsequently, the sand inside the rotor 16 is dropped into a rinse tank 30 on the downside of the rotor 16. In the rinse tank 30, an agitator 34 is rotated by the driving force of the drive unit 20, and the sand in the rinse tank 30 is washed in water while being agitated. |

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable recycling of the used sand generated in casting work by pneumatically/mechanically cleaning the used sand.
SOLUTION: The used sand to be treated is fluidized by the air passing a base plate 3 in a container 1 above a base plate 3, by which a fluid bed 4 is formed. The used sand is accelerated by the second air flow passing a nozzle 5 existing below the inlet of a blower tube 6 and is admitted into the blower tube 6. The used sand further collides against the inner flank of a bell baffle 7 existing above the outlet of the blower tube 6. The degree of the local fluidization of the fluidized bed 4 is adjusted in such a manner that nearly bulk material-form conditions may be obtained by taking the nature of the adhered residues of a binder into consideration. A geometric region A suitable for the dimensions of the blower tube described above is formed around the blower tube 6.

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus are provided to reproduce molding sand by a simple configuration while allowing an amount and degree of the reproduction to be controlled with ease. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of feeding a molding sand into a treatment tank and reproducing the molding sand for a time period during which an air pressure within the treatment tank is maintained lower than that of outside the treatment tank, and discharging the reproduced molding sand from the treatment tank for a time period during which an air pressure within the treatment tank is maintained higher than that of outside the treatment tank. An apparatus comprises a flowing member for flowing the molding sand, a cooling member disposed onto the flowing member so as to cool the molding sand, a scaling member(2) disposed onto the cooling member for scaling off an adhesive from a granule of the molding sand by an abrasion, and a sedimentation member arranged onto the cooling member so as to sediment large granular sand. The scaling member is arranged in such a manner as to allow the processed molding sand to be discharged toward an interior of the flowing member. |
