22 METHOD OF FORMING AN INTERNAL THREAD IN A HOLLOW BODY EP83900554.0 1983-02-01 EP0101452A1 1984-02-29 BREDAL, Torben

25 SCREW THREAD ROLLER BURNISHING APPARATUS US14770925 2014-01-07 US20160008949A1 2016-01-14 Thomas R. McMillian
Internal and external screw thread burnishing assemblies are provided. In the internal screw thread burnishing assembly, diametrically opposed removable cartridges carrying burnishing wheels are received in cavities of a support structure axially movable into the space circumscribed by the internal screw thread. Fluid pressure is utilized to forcibly translate the cartridges radially outwardly to place their burnishing wheels into burnishing engagement with the internal screw thread, with a spring structure resiliently biasing the cartridges toward retracted orientations thereof within the support structure. In the external screw thread burnishing assembly, burnishing wheels are carried on the outer ends of pivotally supported arms which may be pivoted by fluid pressure to drive the burnishing wheels into burnishing engagement with diametrically opposite portions of the external screw thread, with a spring structure resiliently biasing the arms pivotally away from one another.
26 METHOD OF PROCESSING FEMALE SCREW AND APPARATUS THEREFOR US14414572 2013-07-30 US20150165535A1 2015-06-18 Tsuyoshi Aoyama
When processing a female screw in a hole of a metallic material having the hole for female screw processing, a method includes forming a screw groove by sequentially pressing a processing portion of a male screw-shaped tool against an inner periphery of the hole only by a motion of a revolution of the male screw-shaped tool on a certain horizontal plane without rotation by itself in the state of gripping or fixing the metallic material to transfer a shape of the processing portion.
27 SCREW OR NUT WITH A THREAD A PITCH OF WHICH VARIES AND TOOL TO PRODUCE SAID SCREW OR NUT US13146195 2010-01-19 US20110280683A1 2011-11-17 Joachim Galipaud
The distribution of load stresses on threads engaged with a standard screw or nut is very unequal. Indeed, the first threads in engagement support a large majority of the load. So if the load is too important, the threads give way and the function is not provided any more by the screw or the nut. In the prior art, threads are known whose depth or pitch varies a lot in order to cause a self-clamping. In particular, the invention aims at optimizing the resistance and the fatigue resistance of the screws by distributing the load at the very best on their threads without causing this self-clamping. It was shown that the control of the pitch variation, within a chosen pitch tolerance, makes it possible to control the stress distribution on the threads. It is possible to determine a different variation for each load case encountered.
