PURPOSE:To form a screw having high accuracy without deforming the side wall of a cap by pressing a supporting tool pressing tool against the outside surface of the circumference of a cap supporting tool, and applying a force to a cap blank material through the cap supporting tool. CONSTITUTION:A cap blank material is fitted into a recessed part 5a of a cap supporting tool 5. The external form of the cap blank material nearly coincides with the recessed part 5a, therefore, it is placed in the recessed part 5a. Subsequently, the other end face of an inside die 1 is inserted into the cap blank material and brought into contact with the inside surface of the upper wall of a cap. Since the inside die 1 rotates, the cap blank material and the cap supporting tool 5 rotate, as well. Thereafter, when the outside surface of the circumference of the cap supporting tool 5 is pressed, rotating a supporting tool pressing tool, a screw thread is formed in a cap bending line 4C by an inside die screw thread 1a, and a screw cap is completed.

CONSTITUTION:A rolling tool 4 always holds a position for pressing a metallic pipe 1, and an inside surface working plug 5 is in a position deviated to the left from the pressing part of the rolling roll 4 when its inside surface grooving work is not executed. When working the inside surface, a die 2 is moved and a plug 3 is moved, and since the inside surface working plug 5 is connected to the plug 3 by a shaft 7, it is moved to the pressing part of the rolling tool 4 simultaneously, and a groove 6 is formed on the inside surface of the pipe 1.

CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with an expandable and contractible lower die 12 having a discontinuous screw forming part 16 in which threaded part 17 and unthreaded part 18 are disposed alternately on outer face, an expandable, contractible and vertically movable upper die 26 having a discontinuous screw forming part 28 in which threaded part 31 and unthreaded part 32 are disposed alternately on inner face, a vertically movable upper die thrusting member 35 outside of the upper die 26, a lower die opening member 40 that moves vertically with the thrusting member 35 inside of the upper die 26, a vertical movement driving device A for the upper die 26, and a vertical movement driving device B for the thrusting member 35 and opening member 40. PURPOSE:To form a rigid thread without using cutting in forming a thread on the inner diameter of a metallic cylinder by using a device made up of a main screw, three roller screws and a roller supporting bushing. CONSTITUTION:A device made up of a main screw 1, three roller screws 2 and a bushing 3 that supports the roller screws is used as a device to form a thread on inner side of a metallic cylindrical body 7. A side spur gear 8 is structured in a body with the main screw 1, and a taper hole, a taper shaft 5 and an adjusting screw are provided at the center of the main screw 1. Three cuttings 10 are provided vertically in the taper part to adjust diameter of the thread when the thread of the product is formed. The roller screws 2 make planetary movement by normal and reverse movement of the main screw 1. When rotating normally, thread is cut on the product, and when rotating reversely, thread on the product is reformed to complete forming of the thread. As forming is not made by cutting with a cutting tool, tape etc. chips are not generated and strength of the thread is excellent.

The present invention relates to a thread rolling tap for making female threads by plastically working the material, and more specifically, to a thread rolling tap comprising a threads part having threads along the outer surface, a chamfer part tapering into a curved shape, and a parallel part extending from the chamfer part, wherein the threads part further comprises a plurality of protruding parts, which protrude, along the threads, by a predetermined distance from the threads, and which form female threads by plastically working the material by applying pressure to the surface of the through-hole of the material; the closer the protruding parts get to the parallel part, the smaller the amount of plastic work done by each of the protruding part, and thus the resistance to plastic working, which is applied to each of the protruding parts of the chamfer part, is made uniform; and the crests of the chamfer part are formed longitudinally round, thereby minimizing the flow resistance of the material, whereas the crests of the parallel part are formed longitudinally flat, thereby facilitating the supply of processing fluids and reducing the frictional resistance between the female threads and the thread rolling tap, which is due to the springback of the completed female threads. Thus, the lifespan of the thread rolling tap is lengthened.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of the housing of a ball joint capable of easily forming an arm section having an internal thread at the inner peripheral face with a stable characteristic in a short time. SOLUTION: An intermediate formed body in which a cylindrical section corresponding to an arm having a specified thickness and a formed hole having the inner diameter large than the internal diameter of the connecting projection 20 of the arm 15 is formed at the outer peripheral face of the cylindrical body 13. A pair of planes along the axial direction of the body 13 are formed at the peripheral face of the cylindrical section corresponding to the arm. A tap having an external thread at the outer peripheral face is inserted in the formed hole of the section corresponding to the arm. The diameter of the connecting projection is contracted, put and pressurized between mutually confronting upper and lower semicylindrical recessed dies having a curvature corresponding to the outer peripheral face of the connecting projection 20 to form the internal thread 19 on the inner peripheral face of the formed hole of the section corresponding to the arm. The arm section is formed by pulling the tap out while rotating it. The screw part can be easily and quickly formed compared with case of screwing by the thread of a tap. wear of the tap can be prevented. In this way, the connecting projection 20 of the arm 15 having a specified internal thread 19 and a stable characteristic can be easily formed.

SOLUTION: A ball running groove 1c is formed by a rolling process at the internal circumferential surface of a ball screw nut 1. Because of this groove formation process not by grinding but by rolling, even a ball screw nut 1 of a small diameter and large lead can be manufactured. The surface of the groove 1c is processed into a flat surface with no unevenness provided owing to the plasticity processing during the rolling, which offers a specular finish surface, whereby the surface roughness is decreased. The rolling is executed with a rolling tap which involves less wear and excellent durability, and an accurate R-shape of groove is obtained.
