The present invention provides a continuous method of preparing a liquid extract of cereal grain by comminuting cereal grain at a rate of at least 100 kg of dry cereal grain per hour and extracting the comminuted cereal grain with a liquid, said method comprising: continuously combining cereal grain with a liquid; continuously disintegrating the grain particles contained within the liquid by colliding freely suspended grain particles with one or more rotating blades, thereby producing a milled suspension; continuously transferring at least a part of the milled suspension, optionally after further treatment, to a separation device for separation into spent grain and liquid extract; wherein the one or more rotating blades are rotating at a tip speed of at least 10 m/s; the total mechanical energy transferred into the milled suspension by the one or more rotating blades is in the range of 5-1000 kJ per kg of dry cereal grain; and the distance between a tip of said one or more rotating blades and the axis of rotation is in the range of 2-25 cm. The invention also provides a system for comprising a milling apparatus and a separation device suitable for use in the aforementioned method. The present method and system offer several advantages, including savings on capital expenditure and maintenance, short milling times and hygienic design. | ||||||

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To penetrate the inside of raw wheat with water by making the water content of the raw wheat in a specified range by the primary addition of water and conditioning it for a specified time. SOLUTION: A raw wheat being carefully selected and from which foreign matters are eliminated is fed into an apparatus 2 for the primary addition of water, wherein water is added. The amt. of addition of water is controlled by an electromagnetic valve 22 so as to make the water content of the raw wheat to be approximately 12-14%. In addition, when the water temp. is low, the water temp. is elevated by a heater 21. Then, it is stirred and carried by means of a screw conveyer 19 and the wheat grains are carried into a feeding hole 24 of a tempering tank 4 by means of a grain elevating machine and they are spread in the tempering tank 4 while they are scattered by means of a blade 25 for scattering. Air is sucked from the intake ports 16, 17 of the rotary shaft and valve stem 11 by supplying water into the valve stem 11 from its upper part so as to allow the water to flow down. Bubbles generated by the mixing of the air and the water are discharged to the lower part of the rice washing tank 2 to wash rice with the water and the bubbles, thereby increasing a rice washing effect. The present invention disclosed a cleaning process of wheat flour milling for peeling off the pericarp only, and a complete set of equipment for implementing the process. The method comprises four stages, namely, cleaning of raw wheat, pericarp peeling-off, cleaning of glossy wheat, and conditioning stage, wherein the peeling-off stage comprises a dampening step and a stirring step. The process only debrans most of the pericarp, and basically doesn't damage the seed coat. Thus this greatly reduces the probability of the seed coat being grinded into gluten powder and mixed into wheat flour, thereby reducing the ash content in the wheat flour. The complete set of equipment obviates a washer, thus conserving water resource and preventing water pollution. |

Furthermore a unit is provided comprising a peeling device (3) according to the invention, a moistening device (1), and a connecting device (2) for transferring the moistened grains from the moistening device (1) into the peeling device (3), suitable for providing deep cleaned and/or peeled grains. Furthermore, a method is provided for preparing the grain for peeling and to peel the grain.
