The camera has a lens(12) that focuses an image onto a solid state receiver (14) in the form of charge coupled devices. A semireflecting mirror (13) directs the signal onto a mirror (15) and then to a view finder (16). The output of the charge coupled device panel is directed to a magnetic recording head (28) that is mounted on a carriage (27) that moves on a leadscrew (25). The signals are recorded on magnetic material that is produced in the form of a cylindrical magnetic drum (24). The drum is loaded as a unit that is supported and is driven by a coaxial electric motor supplied by a battery pack.

Disclosed is a deposition apparatus for depositing a specific substance on an elongate substrate such as an elongate strip of tape or film. The apparatus includes a vacuum chamber, supply reel and the for reel for supplying elongate substrate in rolled form, a drum, disposed in the vacuum chamber, the drum having a helically-shaped guide groove formed along an outer surface of the drum for receiving the elongate substrate supplied from the supply reel to be wound in the guide groove and to subsequently feed the elongate substrate to a retreat reel to wind thereon upon rotation of the drum, and a deposition source material for depositing a material onto a surface of the elongate substrate which is wound on the drum. The apparatus further includes at least one slip-roller disposed adjacent to the drum in a longitudinal direction of the drum, wherein the slip-roller at least partially protrudes outwardly from an outer surface of the drum and being rotated in a moving direction of the elongate substrate such that a portion of the elongated substrate received in the helically-shaped guide groove of the drum is pulled out of contact from the guide groove to reduce a frictional contact there-between as the elongated substrate is fed upon rotation of the drum and the slip-roller.

60 DEVICE FOR GRIPPING A COMPACT DISC US12307207 2007-07-02 US20090317222A1 2009-12-24 Alfred Kramp
The invention relates to a device for gripping a CD from the top of a stack for automated processing, by putting actuated deflectable fingers in the central opening of the CD. Axial displacement is used to force the fingers radially outward. The axial displacement is advantageously provided by abutting a relatively axially displaceable part of the gripper against a fixed object and continue axial displacement of the gripper. Use is made of an arrangement similar to the actuating mechanism of a ball-point to extend and retract the writing tip or the mechanical arrangement used in electrical micro switches operated by a push button (e.g. the Short Stroke Key Switches of ITT Industries). This arrangement is combined with an electrical switch to detect the extended or retracted position of the fingers to provide a corresponding electrical signal to a control means.
