A transmission is connected with a manually operable control or shift lever (5) by a control rod (1) which transmits a driver's manual movement to the transmission (2). In order to prevent a resonance of the control rod (1) from being caused by vibration of the engine, the control rod is divided into two parts (1a, 1b) which are connected end to end by a joint if. There is further provided a support rod (6) which supports the control lever (5) and the control rod (1). The support rod (6) extends substantially in parallel with the control rod (1) and both of its ends are connected, respectively, to a vehicle body (9) or a housing of the transmission (2). The support rod (6) has bearing means (10) for swingably supporting the control lever (5) and an arm (12) which supports the control rod (1) at either one of its two parts (1a, 1b) rotatably and axially slidably. |
