PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armrest which does not jump out from a storage position even in the case of a collision, i.e., a case when an impact load being equal to or more than a prescribed amount is given to a vehicle.
SOLUTION: A main body frame 20 is supported by a spindle 50 so as to be rotatable and rotated backward with the spindle 50 as a center when the frame 20 is not used, and then, the armrest 10 is stored in an erected posture at a prescribed position in a seat back constituting a vehicle seat. The armrest includes a rotary damper 30 which has a damper function for delaying a forward rotary operation and a lock function for suppressing the rotary operation when the impact load being equal to or more than the prescribed amount is added. Thus, the armrest is rotated at a low speed, stopped at a terminal point without causing an impact and set in a usage state. Even when the impact load which is larger than the prescribed amount is added to the vehicle, the armrest does not jump out from the storage position.

PURPOSE: To easily and accurately perform the operation.
CONSTITUTION: A wrist supporting part 34B is formed in the upper-end rear part of the cover 34 of a vehicle operating device 12 so as to support the wrist 36 of a driver. The front part of the wrist supporting part 34B is made into a holding part 34C which is accustomed to a palm 38 and fingers 41 in the state that the wrist 36 is placed on the wrist supporting part 34B. A finger- operated part 42 mounted at the upper end of an accelerator lever 30 is projected at the top of the holding part 34C, and a slit 44 through which the accelerator lever 30 passes in the forward direction from the top of the holding part 34C is formed. Therefore, when an arm is pushed in the forward direction of a vehicle in the state that the wrist 36 is placed on the wrist supporting part 34B, a brake lever 20 is tilted in the forward direction integratedly with the cover 34 to perform braking operation, and when the finger-operated part 42 is moved by the finger 41 in the forward direction of a vehicle, accelerating operation is performed.
