PURPOSE: To simply improve machining efficiency and accuracy by providing a horizontally movable tool post with one or more drill setting posts arranged in the same direction and at the same level as a main spindle center line, plural tool holders arranged perpendicular to the center line and at the same level, and a guide bush for a long material.
CONSTITUTION: A lathe has the horizontal main spindle which can move forward and backward and horizontally, a bush holder 2 fixed in front of the tip of the main spindle and a horizontally movable tool post 3 provided in front of the bush holder 2, and the tool post 3 can move horizontally and at a right angle to the main spindle. A collet chuck provided at the tip of the main spindle grasps work material with its longitudinal axis coinciding with a main spindle center line, and the tip of the slender work material is set so as to pass through the hole of the guide bush 2 and protrude further forward, resulting in machining made at the mouth of the guide bush 2. The slender work material can be therefore supported by the guide bush 2 and machined near its supported point to have excellent machining accuracy. A single tool holder 9 is provided at both the ends of the tool post 3 respectively, and a drill setting post 10 or a double tool holder 9' is demountably set between the tool holders 9. Thus the machining can be freely performed.

PURPOSE: To improve machining efficiency by installing a horizontal tool slide moving at a right angle with and in the horizontal direction to a main spindle, and an elevating tool slide moving vertically, on a tool slide body moving parallel to the center line of the main spindle and, working cutters on respective tool slides simultaneously for machining.
CONSTITUTION: No.1 and No.5 cutters are mounted on a horizontally moving tool slide 26 so as to face a work perpendicular to its center line at the same level, and to move freely within a specific range. Further, each of No.1, No.3, and No.4 cutters is mounted radially on the tool holder 31 of an elevating tool slide 32, and, due to the rotation of the holder 31, moves vertically to the work during its use, respectively. In addition, the monitors of a tool slide body 1 and the tool slide 26 allow No.1, No.2, and No.3 drills on a drill mounting holder 28 to move freely within a specific range being parallel to the center line of the work and being on the same level as its center line. Hence, the cutting of work periphery using the cutters of the tool slide 32 and the simultaneous machining of the ends of the work using the cutters and drills of the tool slide 26 lead to the omission of machining processes and the improvement of machining efficiency.

PURPOSE:To enable a machine tool to work without limitation of working range or interference between tools, by providing two sets of tool tables having shafts in the positions opposing to each other such that they can operate on respective shaft independently from each other or they can cooperate to cut simultaneously on one of the shaft. CONSTITUTION:In a machine tool, two shafts 2 and 5 and two sets of tool tables 10 and 15 are provided, so that the two sets of tool tables can cooperatively operate on one of the shafts. The two sets of sliding tables for feeding tools 10 and 15 relatively operate with respect to the shaft 2, so that an inner diameter tool 17 and an outer diameter tool 18 cooperate to work. In this construction, the working range is not limited, and there is no mutual interference between the tools on the tool tables, thus ensuring a sufficient space. |

PURPOSE: To perform a cross feed operation simultaneously with the swiveling motion of a work in a relatively short length of spindle on a lathe and improve its work efficiency, by arranging a main spindle in a hollow spindle, causing the hollow spindle to make a longitudinal movement in the direction of spindle core and aleowing the main spindle to make a rotary movement.
CONSTITUTION: To main spindle case 6 a hollow spindle 8 is slidably supported axially in the direction of spindle core through a bush 7, and in the spindle 8 a main spindle 11, in which a work mounting chuck 19 is arranged, is slidably mounted in the direction of spindle core as an integral unit with the spindle 8. A prescribed rotary driving motion is applied to the work (main spindle 11) from a drive motor through a pulley 12, and a tool 35 on a tool mounting slide 3 is moved toward the direction of core of the main spindle 11 to perform a cutting work as required.

PURPOSE:To save machining time by locating a headstock having a spindle around the central part of the bed and locating a tool post on each side the headstock to machine works from both sides at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A headstock 1 having a spindle 2 is located approximately at the center of the bed. Cross tables 3 and 4 which are laterally movable are located on the respective sides of the headstock 1. The cross tables 3 and 4 have polygon- shaped tool posts 5 and 6, respectively. Each tool post is movable in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the spindle. A work 15 is chucked in the spindle 2 and is cut from both sides by the cutting tools carried on the tool heads 5 and 6 at the same time thus reducing the machining time for the work. |

PURPOSE: To make possible coherent machining of high precision despite ultra-large workpiece by settling the lower side tool for an ultra-large workpiece, such as a milling unit, and fixing the workpiece above the tool.
CONSTITUTION: A beam 6 is attached on a rotary table freely rotating through many following wheels 2 on a circular rail 4 set in the middle of a turning machine and constructed on the fixed base 3. Its top end is supported by a following roller unit 7 rolled along the circular rail 8. Upon the upper surface of the beam 6 is locomotively attached a cross beam 11, on whose sliding surface is upwardly set a milling unit 9. And, the locomotive setting of the milling unit 9 in radial and vertical directions makes possible the machining of workpiece W supported by a hanging piece 18 between posts 14, 14.

PURPOSE: To anable a single person to operate two working machines, by installing these machines near each other in a working space defined by a right and a left transfer lines.
CONSTITUTION: The two parallel transfer lines 1, 2 are provided at a predetemined distance l from each other. The working machines 6, 7 whose chuck sides correspond to the transfer lines 1, 2 are installed near each other in the working space 3 corresponding to the distance l. The right end of a tube D transferred from the transfer line 1 onto a lateral feeder 8 is delivered to the working machine 6 to undergo required working. Then, the tube is moved back by an appropriate length and is conveyed by the transfer line 1 and delivered to a lateral feeder 9 of the transfer line 2 through another transfer line 10 so that the other end of the tube D is worked by the working machine 7.
