The right-hand tailstock 2 is slightly moved back rightward by a clamping cylinder 13. A workpiece W is inserted in between both the tailstocks 2, 2. The right-hand tailstock 2 is moved leftward to pinch and hold the workpiece W between both center shafts 2a, 2a. Both the tailstocks 2, 2 are then synchronously moved leftward to insert the halfway portion of the workpiece W into the rotary sleeve 5 to clamp the workpiece. This constitution enables the processing of even a small workpiece.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Werkzeughalteeinrichtung für den automatischen Werkzeugwechsel bei einer Werkzeug­maschine, Stanzmaschine oder dergleichen Maschine, wobei die Maschine eine Spindel aufweist, die in ihrem freien Ende eine als Spannzange ausgebildete Spanneinrichtung für ein Werkzeug besitzt, welches durch eine Werkzeug­wechseleinrichtung zu- und abführbar ist, wobei in der Spindel eine die Spannzange durch axiale Verschiebung betätigende Zugstange geführt ist und wobei das Werkzeug jeweils spindelseitig einen Werkzeughaltekopf mit einem umgekehrt kegelstumpfförmigen Zentrierkonus aufweist, der zur Verspannung des Werkzeuges gegen die Spindel von der Spannzange in deren Spannstellung mit einer konischen Innenfläche hintergreifbar ist. Die neue Werkzeughalte­einrichtung gemäß Erfindung ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Spannzange (7) mit einer wenigstens einseitig offenen T-förmigen Ausnutung (72) versehen ist, daß das Spindelende (2ʹ) wenigstens einseitig eine T-förmige oder rechteckförmige Ausnutung (22) aufweist und daß die Ausnutungen (72, 22) von Spannzange (7) und Spindelende (2ʹ) ein Ein- und Ausfahren des Werkzeughaltekopfes (1) von der Seite her bzw. zur Seite hin ermöglichend in Flucht miteinander positionierbar sind. Mit der Erfindung wird der Werkzeugwechsel vereinfacht und beschleunigt.
