CONSTITUTION: An insoluble and granular deodorizer such as activated carbon black, acid clay is added to the purified powder of konjak mannan and they are heated togehter with water, then filtered to give a solution of deodorized konjak mannan. Then, a coagulant as alkaline earth hydroxide, e.g., calcium hydroxide, is added to the resulting solution together with a variety of additives as sweetener, colorants or other, to effect gelation.
