CONSTITUTION: Phycobilin existing in algae, especially in blue-green algae and red algae, or its protein adduct is used as an active component. Phycobilin is administered singly or as a mixture with a carrier orally in the form of tablet, pill, powder, capsule, etc. or as a solution. Dose: preferably 10W100mg daily. The phycobilin is e.g. phycocyanobilin and allophycocyanobilin of blue-gree algaen and phycoerythrobilin of red algae. These phycobilins are present usually in the form of protein adduct in the algae, have water solubility, and are called as phycocyanin, allophycocyanin, and phycoerythrin, respectively.
