The system is applied specifically to pivotable spare-tire supports (50), located at the rear part of a vehicle, and its function is to enable locking of this support (500) to the vehicle frame (300), guaranteeing alignment of the lock components (12).

A security device for the spare wheel of a vehicle comprises a main body portion (1) having a main cylindrical part (3) adapted to pass through the central aperture of a wheel. Spring means (13) are extensible radially outwardly from the cylindrical part (3) for engaging the rim of the wheel aperture to retain the main body portion (1) in the wheel aperture. Threaded means (17) are provided in the main body portion (3) and bolt means (23) are adapted to pass through an aperture in a suitable part of the vehicle but having a head (25) too large to pass therethrough. The bolt (23) cooperates with the threaded part (17) in the main body (1) so as to retain the vehicle wheel against the said suitable part of the vehicle.

Bei einer Abwandlung ist ein Bolzen oder verlängerter Körper (21) geformt, um die Flanke des Rades zu umfassen, indem er diesem mit einem vorbestimmten Punkt der Karosserie verbindet, wobei zur Befestigung der Vorrichtung am Rad ein Ende (22) dersel­ben in eines der Löcher für die Belüftung der Bremsvor­richtung oder für die Befestigung des Rades eingeführt wird, während das andere Ende (26) am Glied (27) befestigt ist, das vorsieht den verlängerten Körper an der Karosserie zu sichern.
