A lower locking pin body for the hinge joint between a lower locking pin and a lower locking pin hook has a suspending hole of a coupler lock lifter to facilitate it rotating surrounding the lower locking pin hook under the effect of the hole. There are two coupler suspending holes which are respectively arranged on each side ends of the lower locking pin body to facilitate the workers opening the coupler on either side of a car. A two-side operating coupler with above said lower lock pin body and a draft gear are provided, wherein the draft gear also includes two lock lifters and two lock lifter seats. The lock lifters are mounted into a key-shaped hole of the lock lifter seats, and the lock lifter has a limiting segment on the matched position. Two hook head ends of the lock lifters pass respectively out from the key-shaped holes of the coupler lock lifter seats and hang with the coupler lock lifter suspension hole of the two-side operating coupler. It has clearance between the limiting segment of the coupler lock lifter and a stripe-shaped hole wall of the key-shaped hole.
13 Uncoupling lever assembly US12036443 2008-02-25 US07686177B1 2010-03-30 John M. Jackson
An improved lever assembly for uncoupling railroad cars having a coupler that includes a lock lifter. The lever assembly has a handle on one end that is pivotally connected to the railcar and a hook located at the other end of the lever assembly that is connected to the lock lifter. The assembly has levers that slide relative to each other. The levers are held adjacent to each other by enclosures through which the levers slide. The enclosures contain U-shaped glides held stationary relative to the enclosures. Typically made of plastic, the glides provide low friction sliding contact with levers sliding through them. The glides are longitudinally shorter than their containing enclosures providing protection from ultraviolet light.

15 Uncoupling lever assembly US692977 1985-01-22 US4602717A 1986-07-29 Nicholas Krzanowsky
An uncoupling lever assembly for a railroad car has first and second lever members. A plurality of sleeves are attached to one of the lever members. The other lever member extends through the sleeves in telescoping relation to the one member. Each sleeve is lined by a pair of oppositely-disposed, generally L-shaped glide members. Each glide member has a base with flexible hooks engaging a portion of the sleeve. An integral leg extends from the base and lies next to an adjacent portion of the sleeve.
16 Uncoupling device for railroad cars US20812571 1971-12-15 US3814267A 1974-06-04 CHIERICI O
An uncoupling device for railroad cars especially suited for hydraulically cushioned cars including those of the long travel cushioning type having the couplers mounted for cushion travels in response to buff and draft forces of up to about thirty inches of travel, in which the uncoupling device comprises a lever assembly including a handle member secured to the car body for providing the necessary pivotal movement to operate the coupler lock lifter, a coupler lock lifter member operably engaged with the coupler lock lifter, and a floating rectilinear housing telescopingly receiving rectilinear portions of each of said handle and lock lifter members. The lever assembly is shaped to be disposed below the path of movement of the interlock structure of type F couplers in the event of a passed coupler impact and yet be balanced against rocking tendencies due to train action without requiring mechanical restraint. The lever assembly also accommodates the maximum buff, draft and side swinging of the coupler without going solid.
17 Method for removing draft gear US3797097D 1972-07-24 US3797097A 1974-03-19 PETERSON B
A method and device for removing railroad car draft gear-yoke assemblies in which the yoke is broken or cracked, wherein the device comprises a frame including a rigid elongate base having a pair of upstanding arms, one of which is rigid with the base and the other of which is swingably mounted to move its upstanding end toward the rigid arm under the action of the hydraulic ram carried by the base. After the draft gear carrier iron, coupler, and its key or keying pin are removed, the device is lifted up against the draft gear-yoke assembly, with the rigid arm positioned against the yoke inner end and the swingable arm adjacent a block of metal disposed in the yoke outer open end adjacent the draft gear front follower. The ram is then acutated to compress the draft gear between the block and yoke inner ends so as to free it from the draft gear pocket front stops, after which the draft gear and yoke may be lowered from the draft gear pocket as a unit.

An uncoupling linkage mechanism including an auxiliary operating lever extending downward from the side of the railway vehicle and accessible therefrom, aid lever rotatable about an upper pivot and including an inwardly extending finger in contact with a pivoted rack bar of the uncoupling device. The lever is rotatable by pulley a specified number of degrees which results in approximately twice that amount of rotation by the rack bar which in turn rotates and raises an uncoupling rod which raises and lowers the coupler rotor to uncouple the railway car. The uncoupling device includes sliding elements enabling the device to remain operative during lengthwise and angular movement of the coupler.
