44 Method of expanding/contracting axle of working vehicle JP6202084 1984-03-28 JPS60203501A 1985-10-15 ISHII HIROFUMI
PURPOSE:To ease extending an axle in the captioned method for a self-traveling working vehicle like a construction machine by constituting a system in such a manner that a steering wheel, which is made at first to perpendicularly cross a fixed beam, returns to the original posture after a movable beam has been extended. CONSTITUTION:After a steering cylinder 9 is fixed at the neutral position, a rotating cylinder 12 is extended so as to rotate a wheel-supporting frame 11 outward by about 90 deg. around a pivottaly supporting part 11a, thereby situating a front wheel 1 at the back of a fixed beam 7R. Next, an axle-extending cylinder 13 is operated for extension in order to shift the supporting frame 11 outward via a movable beam 10. As a result, the pivottaly supporting part 11a for both the wheel-supporting frame 11 and the movable beam 10 is shifted outward, being restricted by rotating cylinder 12. At the same time, the wheel 1 rolls and returns again to the position at which the transverse axis of the fixed beam 7 comes in line with the axis of rotation of the wheel 1. With this contrivance, extension of an axle can easily be done.

PURPOSE:To facilitate adjusting operation of a tread and to prevent a mistake in adjustment of the tread, by making a front and rear wheels expandable, contractable and adjustable in a plurality of steps respectively. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical shaft 61 is born rotatably within a speed reduction case 58 and an axle 64 having a front wheel 5 is fitted in with spline within the cylindrical shaft 61 expandably and contractably. The axle 64 is expanded and contracted in two steps as its lock pin 65 is connected with a connecting hollow part 66 of the inside of the cylindrical shaft 61. A rear axle 6 is adjusted elastically in three steps as it is in a similar structure. Then when the front and rear wheels 5, 6 are both adjusted into minimum treads, each of the front wheels 5 are made to position within a width of each of the rear wheels 6. Under a state wherein the tread of the rear wheels 6 is expanded, outside edges of the front wheels 5 are made not to protrude outward from outside edges of the rear wheels 6 irrespective of adjustment of the tread of the front wheels 5.

PURPOSE:To improve drivability and safety in times of minimum and maximum treads, by setting the extent of tread regulation in a rational manner conformable to wheel width at a time when the tread regulation takes place for small narrow range steering front wheels and wide range rear wheels with each of axle's expansion and contraction. CONSTITUTION:A farm tractor provided with narrow range steering front wheels 5 and 5 and wide range rear wheels 6 and 6 is made possible for their tread regulations by means of fitting each axle of these front and rear wheels 5 and 6 inside each cylinder shaft free of expansion and contraction with a spline. In this case, an outside interval l1 of these front wheels 5 and 5 is made to accord with an inside interval L1 of these rear wheels 6 and 6. And, when front and rear wheel treads are regulated to maximum each, a rear wheel tread regulated variable (b) at one side is set to such a relationship that becomes less than the sum of a difference between width W1 and W2 of these front and rear wheels 5 and 6 and a front wheel tread regulated variable (a), namely, a numerical expression of (b)<=(W2-W1)+(a) so as to make an inside interval l2 of front wheels 5 and 5 accord with an inside interval L2 of rear wheels 6 and 6.

PURPOSE:To improve drivability in various farm working specifications, by setting the regulated variable in a rational manner at a time when tread regulation for both front and rear wheels is carried out with an expansion axle, in case a farm tractor provided with narrow range steering front wheels and wide range rear wheels. CONSTITUTION:A far tractor is provided with small range steering front wheels 5 and 5 and wide range rear wheels 6 and 6, and each of front and rear wheels 5 and 6 is made possible for tread regulation with their axles fitted by sprine inside a cylinder shaft free of expansion and contraction. In this case, under the condition that front and rear wheel treads are regulated to minimum each, an outside interval l1 of symmetrical front wheels 5 and 5 and an outside interval L1 of symmetrical rear wheels 6 and 6 are approximated. Likewise, under the condition that these front and rear wheel treads are regulated to maximum each, a rear-wheel tread regulated variable (b) is set to be larger than a front-wheel tread regulated variable (a) so as to make an inside interval l2 of these front wheels 5 and 5 approximate to an inside interval L2 of these rear wheels 6 and 6.
