The invention relates to a method and device for turning intermediate products of thermoplastic polyesters or copolyesters, which are provided as a molten monomer, an oligomer, or a monomer-glycol mixture, into droplets by melting or for forming a molten intermediate product after a partial polycondensation and melting, whereby the droplet-shaped intermediate product is introduced into a gaseous medium, and the gaseous medium accelerates the crystallization process after the droplet-shaped intermediate product enters the gaseous medium. The crystallization process is accelerated by virtue of the fact that the gaseous medium keeps the drop-shaped intermediate product at a temperature above 100 °C and lower than the melting point thereof for a limited period of time until a crystallization of the droplets on the surface of the intermediate product is completed. To this end, the device comprises a precipitation column through which, opposite the direction of flow, the gaseous medium flows from the bottom to the top, whereas the droplets fall with a pre-crystallized surface in a vertical direction from the top to bottom into a collection funnel.

Spherical, cellular silicone rubber microparticles, having internal microcells, are produced with an apparent specific gravity in the range of 0.05 to 0.5 g/cm³ and an average particle size in the range of 10 to 5000 micrometers. The microparticles can be produced by dispersing a foamable, liquid curable silicone rubber composition in a liquid, then contacting this dispersion with a liquid residing at a higher temperature to simultaneously induce foaming and cure of the composition to give the microparticles. |

Provided is a method of producing polymer particles characterized in that, in a system in which a polymer A and a polymer B are dissolved in and mixed with an organic solvent to undergo phase separation into two phases which are a solution phase containing with the polymer A as a major component and a solution phase containing the polymer B as a major component, the polymer A, the polymer B, and the organic solvent are continuously supplied to a mixing apparatus to thereby allow an emulsion to be formed; the emulsion is supplied to a vessel and added continuously with a poor solvent for the polymer A in the vessel to allow the polymer A to precipitate ; and polymer A particles is continuously taken from the vessel. The present invention provides a method that allows for mass production by efficient processes of manufacturing and that continuously microparticulates and produces polymer particles with lower variability in the average particle diameter and a smaller particle diameter distribution index. |
