A machine for deforming the wires of grids for making electric accumulators, which comprises two lower molds, and two upper molds which are positioned above the lower molds and which are operable to shift between a raised position, in which they are separated from the underlying lower molds, and a lowered position in which they are pressed against the lower molds to deform the wires of the grids on a grid strip. The upper molds comprise respective projecting molding areas and respective seats which are positioned between the molding areas of the relative upper mold, and each housing a corresponding piece-detacher element which, when the upper molds are in the raised position, is suitable to interfere with the grid remaining attached to the corresponding upper mold to separate the grid from such upper mold. |

A tool for fastening fencing material to a post with a staple. The tool includes a base plate; first and second handles; first and second crimping arms, and a cam operatively engaged with the first handle. A slide is operatively engaged with the cam. The first and second handles and the first and second crimping arms are pivotally interconnected and attached to the base plate so that when the first and second handles are pivoted towards one another from an open position, the cam advances the slide, which advances the staple so that the crimping arms may crimp the staple to the fence post. A method for attaching the staple to a fence post is also described and claimed. An inventive staple is also disclosed. |

A screen frame assembly for a door or a window includes a plurality of frame sections defining an opening and a screen cloth covering the opening. The frame sections include a first leg folded onto a second leg with the legs defining a slot therebetween. An edge of the screen cloth is disposed in the slot for each of the frame sections. A plurality of dimples are formed in the frame sections to trap and retain the screen cloth to the frame sections. |

An inner spring, for use in furniture and bedding, comprises coil springs which are encased in cylindrical casings having a predetermined number of spring casing portions, and which are continuously arranged in parallel. The axes of the coil springs are arranged in parallel, and at least a part of the coil springs encased in the spring casing portions are given different repulsions by varying their pitches and are set in place in the cylindrical spring casings to form a row of inner springs. |

An apparatus and a method for applying a fabric material to a rectangular frame having a fabric retention groove along respective side members thereof. The apparatus comprises a support structure having a planar frame support which is comprised of two pairs of opposed parallel frame engaging members. One of the frame engaging members of each of the pairs is an adjustably displaceable member. Each frame engaging member has one or more gripping elements for holding respective ones of the side members of the frame along a substantially straight axis and actuable to release the side members. A jaw member is provided to position a predetermined length of the fabric material over the frame to overlie the fabric retention groove of the frame side members. A spline cord positioner is displaceable in alignment with the retention grooves for applying a spline cord in the grooves from above the fabric material to retain the material therein. A fabric cutting device is also displaceable across the fabric for severing same from a supply roll. The fabric may be a wire cloth screen fabric, a sheet of plastic or fiberglass material, a silk screen sheet, or the like fabrics which may require to be attached to such frames. |

The invention relates to an apparatus for the orientated supply of helical springs, which are provided on at least one end with an open loop, to a working station, having a first conveying device, to the end of which are supplied the springs resting with their spring bodies on a support surface of the first conveying device and with their longitudinal extension arranged in the conveying direction of the first conveying device, and having a second conveying device with its beginning adjoining the end of the first conveying device. The invention is characterized in that the second conveying device comprises a guide strip, on which the springs transferred from the first conveying device to the second conveying device are held hanging downwards by their loop and which, at least in its area forming the beginning of the second conveying device, extends transversely to the conveying direction which the first conveying device has at its end, the area of the guide strip forming the beginning of the second conveying device is arranged opposite the end of the first conveying device but at a distance from the said end, and in the area forming the beginning of the second conveying device the guide strip has an overhung upper edge which is situated in approximately the same plane as the support surface for the spring bodies of the first conveying device. |

Method of seaming metal wire fabric or screen of fine mesh onto a cylindrical support structure, such as a dandy roll or cylinder mould by securing to the structure a first metal wire cloth under layment at least along the seaming site of the fabric. The fine mesh fabric is then wrapped around the structure and tensioned with its ends held in registered, abutting relationship. The fine wire fabric is spot welded along and adjacent its abutting edges to the metal cloth. The welding pulses are controlled as to both shape and number to fuse the two wire materials together without overheating various gauges of metal fabric.

A machine including a foot assembly for powered movement downwardly into close confinement within an opening within which the wire screening is to be installed. Laterally displaceable injectors act to forcefully engage marginal screen segments and drive same into the walls defining the opening. Cooperating wedge shaped components translate downward movement of the foot assembly to lateral injector movement and spring means retract the screen injectors to permit foot assembly removal from the opening. Also disclosed is screen supply arrangement for advancing screen into place on the block. A method of screen placement is also disclosed.
