Also, hydraulic jacks 5, 6 are provided in the direction falling at a right angle with the axial core of the steel pipe. The hydraulic pump 4 is stuck to a rotating base 7, is supported so as to be freely rotatable by a bearing 8 of the truck 3, and the supporting shaft of the end of the hydraulic pump 4 is supported to the truck 3 by a bearing 10. Each length of the wheel 2 and the hydraulic jacks 5, 6 is adjusted to coincide with the inside diameter of the steel pipe whose distortion is corrected, the truck is fitted to the steel pipe, the distortion is corrected by making it run to a distortion part by an operation from the outside of the steel pipe, and also the correction is executed by rolling the steel pipe and changing its correcting position.

CONSTITUTION:An induction heating furnace 2 is provided at the center of a carrying passage 1, and a through-hole 3 is pierced at the inside of the furnace 2. A steel tube P placed on a group of carrying rollers 4u in the upstream side is carried to the right by driving rollers 4, 4'. The tube is then passed through the hole 3 of the induction heating furnace 2 and the circumference of the tube P is heated to a temperature below AC1 transformation point. Then, the tube is shifted to a downstream-side carrying roller group 4d. At this time, the steel tube P is shifted in spiral form by rotating carrying rollers 4, 4' giving skew angle, and the heated zone is shifted continuously in the longitudinal direction of the steel tube P. By this way, temperature in the circumferential direction of the large-diameter steel tube P is made uniform and the residual stress is removed over the whole length. Then, the tube is air-cooled while giving rotation and correction to specified allowable limit is completed.
