As for the MOX rods A, in this case, only three kinds of rods 12 being different in the degree of Pu enrichment need to be used. Thereby the degree of the Pu enrichment of the MOX rods A can be reduced and the rods B equivalent thereto are used for the reduction. The reduction in the amount of plutonium charged for one body of the assembly can be made small, e.g. 5% or below. This is because the number of rods replaced by the rods A is small and, consequently, the degree of the Pu enrichment at the positions thereof is low.
