CONSTITUTION: A method for refining crude oil efficiently, which comprises separating the naphtha fraction from crude oil (in a predistillation tower 1), hydrodesulfurizing the residual fraction (in a hydrodesulfurizer 2), subjecting to high-pressure separation (in a high-pressure separation tank 3), hydrorefining the fractionated light fraction (in a hydrorefining unit 4) and distilling (in an atmospheric distillation tower 5) into each fraction. A hydrodesulfurizer 6 for desulfurizing the naphtha fraction separated in the preliminary distillation tower 1 is also provided.
