CONSTITUTION: The nitrogen-contg. cermet consisting of double carbonitride of Ti, Ta, W, and Mo as a hard dispersed phase and metal consisting of Ni and Co as a finding metal phase is obtd. by producing the nitrogen-contg. cermet in which the content of Ti in the metal atoms of the hard dispersed phase is specified to 0.1W0.9 by atom ratio, the content of Co in the remaining binding metal phase is 0.1W0.9 and the binding metal phase occupies 3W50wt% in the alloy. After the cermet is sintered in a reduced pressure nitrogen atmosphere at 1,250W1,400°C, the hot hydrostatic press treatment is executed at 1,175W1,360°C in a gaseous mixture atmosphere composed of nitrogen and inert gas under 15W2,000atm total pressure.
