CONSTITUTION: A casing 1 made of quartz glass is fitted therein with filaments and filled with an inert gas and a halogen gas. Lead wires 2 made of round molybdenum rods are fitted to the ends of the casing 1. After the sealing of the end portion 3 of the casing 1, a portion 4 of the sealed root portion of the lead wire 2 is left and the surface of the portion is shaved to a depth of about 50μ by use of a cutting tool 5. This operation removes an oxide film 6 on the lead wire 2 to expose a surface 7 without oxide layer. The end of the lead wire 2 is cut at a predetermined length, and a cap 8 is fixed to the cut end by welding.
