PROCESS: For example, a concentrated aqueous solution of NaOH is added to a solution of furfuryl alcohol in dioxane, which is reacted with a solution of 2,4- bis(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)nitrobenzene in dioxane to give a compound shown by the formula.
