The dispensing device comprises a container, which is positioned externally of the toilet tank. The container is fluidically connected to an inner dosing mechanism that is governed by movements of a float that floats on the water in the toilet tank. The float moves between an upper most position in which the container is fluidically connected to a dozer, and a lower position in which the dozer is fluidically connected to the toilet tank. In the upper most position, a portion of the cleaning agent is received in the dozer, and in the lower position, the portion dispenses into the toilet tank so that when water enters the toilet tank, it mixes with cleaning agent, ready to be flushes into the toilet bowl.
