141 A LOADING BAY DOCKING SYSTEM EP14704575.1 2014-02-13 EP2956391A1 2015-12-23 Lawler, Aidan Thomas
This invention relates to a loading bay docking system (1) for docking trailers (100) at a loading bay door (29). The loading bay docking system comprises an elongate track (3), a carriage (5) mounted on the track moveable back and forth along the track, a carriage actuating ram (7) for moving the carriage along the track and a controller. The carriage comprises a wheel rest plate (9) for reception of a wheel (102) thereon, a wheel backstop (11) and a wheel chocking member (13). The wheel chocking member is operable to lock or release a wheel on the carriage. The controller operates both the carriage actuating ram and the wheel chocking member. There is further provided a pair of side dock seals (21, 23). These seals are pivotably mounted about a horizontal axis intermediate their ends and/or slidably mounted to allow movement upwards and downwards relative to the loading bay door. The system is safer, more durable, more effective and requires less maintenance.

143 SEAL ASSEMBLY FOR LOADING DOCK SEALS AND SHELTERS EP15001318.3 2013-02-19 EP2939967A2 2015-11-04 Digmann, Charles; Schmidt, Timothy J.

A seal assembly for sealing a vehicle (18) at a loading dock (20) comprises flexible face panels (12) with a tip seal (58) and/or an air-filled blister (14) or elongate "bubble" that sealingly conforms to a rear portion of a vehicle (18) ) at the dock. In some examples, an air chamber (72) within the blister (14) is open at one or both ends. This prevents otherwise trapped pressurized air from adversely affecting the blister's compliance or its ability to sealingly conform to irregular surfaces of the vehicle (18). In some examples, as the vehicle (18) backs into and deflects the face panel (12), the blister (14) distorts and wraps itself around the vehicle's surface irregularities, such as door hardware (36) and protruding lights (34). In some examples, the face panel's tip seal (58) includes an overlapping seal flap, wherein a series of slits in the tip seal allow the seal to fit over the vehicle's various surface irregularities.

The invention relates to a docking buffer for attaching to ramps, comprising an elastic damping element (3) that is situated between two U-shaped sections (1; 2) consisting of a hard, shock-proof material. The limbs (4; 5) and (6; 7) of said sections are adjacent to one another and can be displaced in relation to one another, the limbs (4; 5) of one U-shaped section (2) converging at an angle alpha that deviates from 90 DEG in relation to a base surface (9) and the limbs (6; 7) of the other U-shaped section (1) diverging at an angle beta that deviates from 90 DEG in relation to a base plate (8). The opening widths between the ends of the limbs (4; 5) and (6; 7) and the sizes of the angles alpha ; beta are selected in such a way that the limbs (4; 5) embrace the limbs (6; 7). The advantage of the invention is that it provides a docking buffer with a simple construction that is thus cost-effective to produce, said buffer affording reliable protection even during an off-centre collision. The greater width of the mobile section in relation to the fixed section creates a larger impact surface for the docking vehicle.

155 MOVEABLE BUMPER FOR A LOADING DOCK EP01929057.6 2001-04-13 EP1282574B1 2005-03-30 VAN DE WIEL, Hans; DE LANG, Henk; SANDER, Reinhard, E.
A bumper assembly (12) for a loading dock (10) includes a bumper (14) that is moveable between an operative position and a stored position. In the operative position, the bumper (14) extends well above the dock platform (10) to prevent excessively high trucks, trailer beds, and cargo container from being parked over the top of the dock platform (10). In the stored position, the bumper (14) is positioned so as not to obstruct loading and unloading of cargo. In some cases, the bumper (14) is biased to the operative position to encourage operators to normally leave the bumper (14) in that position. In some embodiments, the bumper (14) is selectively moveable away from the vehicle or container that the bumper (14) is blocking to facilitate subsequently moving the bumper (14) to its stored position.
156 Border element to be placed between a train and a platform EP04076345.0 2004-05-05 EP1475289A1 2004-11-10 Blustain, Yoash; Carels, Patrick

The invention concerns a border element (1) for a platform (5) for a railway (8), whereby this platform (5) extends at a certain height in relation to the rails (8) of the railway, such that the level of this platform (5) corresponds to the entry height of a train situated on said rails (8), whereby this border element has an elastic buffer (2) which is to extend horizontally according to the edge (6) of said platform (5), whereby this buffer (2) has a free end (3) opposite to a platform side (4) which is to link up with said platform (5), whereby the rigidity of this buffer (2) increases as of said free end (3) to said platform side (4).
