An article of footwear includes an upper that is at least partially formed from a base layer and thread sections that lie adjacent a surface of the base layer. The thread sections are positioned to provide structural elements that, for example, restrain stretch in directions corresponding with longitudinal axes of the thread sections. In some configurations of the footwear, a first portion of the thread sections may extend between forefoot and heel regions of the footwear, and a second portion of the thread sections may extend vertically. An embroidering process may be utilized to position the thread sections on the base layer.

PURPOSE:To encase shoes efficiently in the subsequent process by properly arranging and conveying right and left shoes in pair which have been released from molds separately. CONSTITUTION:In the first conveyer 11, a pair of shoes S1, S2 which are separately released from left and right foot molds and placed at a space therebetween with each toe arranged in the same direction, are transported in the direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction thereof. The second conveyer 12 is adapted to transport both shoes sequentially in the same direction. The conveyer 12 is provided with a stopper 3 which is disposed approximately orthogonal to the direction of transporting both shoes and is adapted to stop the moving of both shoes to be arranged properly. The third conveyer 13 is disposed adjacent to the conveyer 12. Thus, left and right shoes separately released from foot molds by a shoes releasing device can be arranged in pair and conveyed, so as to perform succeeding encasing and checking operations efficiently.

99 Machine to fit shoe side and heel seat part to last JP11101792 1992-04-30 JPH05146305A 1993-06-15 JIYON REIMONDO BUEIRU; FURANSHISU BARII SHIYAAPU; MAAKU KUUIIBERU BURAZAAUITSUKU; AREN SANDAASON
PURPOSE: To move a shoe after completion of form matching with a last quickly by forming a shoe support with a form matching pin, toe support and heel tightening mechanism, equipping the shoe support with two side matching assemblies and a heel seat wiper mechanism, and swinging the heel tightening mechanism about a pivot as the center. CONSTITUTION: On a shoe support 20, a work for shoe is located using a form matching pin 24 installed upright on a slide rod 78 in such an arrangement that the instep is positioned down and the heel facing up. The heel of this work of shoe is tightened by a seat fixing member 100 and a heel level gauge 110, and a toe support 30 is moved on the slide rod 78 so that fitting of the toe is established. Then a side form matching assembly is contacted with both sides of the work. When necessary processes at this stage are completed, for example sewing, nailing, etc., the pin 24 is sunk and the level gauge 110 is raised, and the work tightened is released and rotated round a pin 96. Thus the work can be sent to the next process quickly. COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO

A flow line for the production of cemented shoes consists of a conveyer system 1 located between machines in a lasting section 3 and machines in a finishing section 4, a machine 8 for applying adhesive to lasted shoe bottoms being located at one end of the conveyer system 1 at the beginning of the lasting section 3. The conveyer system 1 consists of two endless conveyers 2, 7 which move in opposite directions and which are mounted one above the other, the upper conveyer 2 having racks 5 for carrying lasts 10 and lasted uppers and the lower conveyer 7 being located in a heating tunnel 6 which heat sets the uppers moving along one side and evaporates the volatile ingredients of solvents from the adhesive on the shoe bottom of lasted uppers moving along the other side. In operation the uppers and lasts are carried by the racks 5 on the upper conveyer through the lasting section 3 where they are lasted. The lasted uppers are then returned on the lower conveyer 7 along the same side where they are heat set and they arrive at the machine 8 where adhesive is applied to the shoe bottom. They then move along the other side of the lower conveyer 7 where the solvents are evaporated from the adhesive and move back along the same side along the upper conveyer 2 through the finishing section 4 where soles are secured to the shoe bottom.
