The invention provides clean and decorative wraps for automotive shoulder belts. The shoulder belt minicover and cushion wraps around and closes with hook and pile type fastening or closure. The minicover for the shoulder belt may have an intermediate layer of padding material. The particular material ranges widely from strong nylon or denim to quilted cloth, fake fur, real fur or sheepskin. The minicover overlies the shoulder and neck area of a user. Bright and reflective surfaces of minicovers indicate shoulder belt usage. Unique shapes and bright colors remind occupants to use seat belts.

63 VEHICLE SEAT RESTRAINT PCT/NZ2012000099 2012-06-15 WO2012173501A2 2012-12-20 WILKINSON BRENDA HAZEL; WILKINSON DONALD RAYMOND
Abstract The invention is directed to a seat safety restraint which compels occupants to use the restraint because it hinders operation of the vehicle when the restraint is not buckled properly. The restraint may be provided in combination with a safety seat. The orientation of the restraint relative to the seat can be altered to allow the restraint to be buckled comfortably for occupants of different shapes and sizes. The restraint comprises two restraining members which can be fitted to a seat. The mountings for the restraint are enclosed in housings, which may also act as arm rests or lateral restraints. The housings preferably limit the degree the orientation of the restraint may be altered and also prevent an operator easily tampering with the restraint member fixings. Restraints according to the invention can advantageously be fitted to new vehicles or retrofitted to existing vehicles.
