11 SIDE WINDOW VISOR, A METHOD OF INSTALLATION, AND A MOTOR VEHICLE HAVING A SIDE WINDOW VISOR US15791159 2017-10-23 US20180257460A1 2018-09-13 Luis H. Serentill; John A. Wargo
A side window visor designed to attach to a vehicle window channel. The side window visor can be arranged and configured to extend over a portion of a window area for preventing inclement weather from entering the passenger cabin with the window slightly opened. A full length tab is reduced to form a plurality of tabs along the tab area of a side window visor. The plurality of tabs located on the side window visor allows the auto-up window feature to be used without causing large resistance and retraction of the window.
12 Device and system for providing a wind curtain for preventing bugs from contacting a viewing surface US14742005 2015-06-17 US09840131B2 2017-12-12 Michael Athmer; Jerry Albano
The present invention is directed to a device and system designed to prevent organisms, such as bugs, from contacting a viewing surface, such as a windshield or window associated with a moving vehicle. The device contains at least a first side wall having an air intake member constructed to receive and capture air flow generated by movement of the motor vehicle. A second wall contains air distribution members and is oriented in a different direction as that of the first wall. Because the device is designed to have side walls oriented at different directions, air exiting the device travels in a different path than the path of entry. In this manner, air flow can be directed to travel across a viewing surface, thereby providing a curtain of air thereupon.

The device includes a deflector, screen, and cigarette egress passageway. The deflector has a deflector attachment portion and a wind deflection portion. The wind deflection portion includes a wind deflection portion proximal edge projection distance. The deflector attachment portion releasably attaches the deflector to the vehicle door, while the wind deflection portion deflects wind. The screen has a screen attachment portion and a screen ventilation portion. The screen ventilation portion includes a screen ventilation portion proximal edge projection distance. The screen attachment portion releasably attaches the screen to the deflector. A cigarette egress passageway is formed in the screen to permit a cigarette to pass from a screen ventilation portion interior surface to a screen ventilation portion exterior surface.

A modular wind deflector is constructed from a plurality of wind deflecting panels. The panels include edge flanges for attaching adjacent panels together, which also form ribs on the inside of the wind deflector creating a substructure for resisting wind forces.
19 Side-visor support assembly US10436241 2003-05-13 US20030214149A1 2003-11-20 Hideki Kanie; Shinichi Honzawa; Akihiko Sakiyama
An assembly for attaching a side-visor to a frame of a vehicle comprises a retainer that includes a mounting portion and a clip portion connected to the mounting portion by flexible straps that can be bent for alignment of the clip portion with a hole in the visor, through which a flanged pin is inserted into and coupled with the clip portion. Adjustability of the retainer, by virtue of the flexible straps, permits the same retainer to accommodate different visor inclinations and different visor hole positions.
