61 Book JP13178299 1999-04-02 JPH11334246A 1999-12-07 TEICHBERG IRA
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rotatably provide a rotary part corresponding to a cutout part by providing at least one cut-out portion on a front cover, a leaf and a backbone, and mounting the rotary parts corresponding to the cut-out portions at an axis extending along a plane of the front cover, the leaf and the backbone. SOLUTION: The book 1 is constituted by connecting a front cover 5, a backbone 10 and at least one or more leaves 15 by a backbone portion 20. For example, in the case of the front cover, a cut-out portion 35 is provided on the cover 5, a rotary portion 25 corresponding to the portion 25 is formed so that the portion 35 is freely rotatable in the portion 35. That is, an axis A extending along a surface of the book 1 is mounted at the portion 25, and an attachment implement 30 is mounted at a periphery of the portion 35 to rotate at the axis A as a center. In this case, the portion 35 can be, for example, formed in a circular, triangular or square shape or size.
62 Multipage bound booklet having pressure sealed binding and its preparation JP9926294 1994-04-13 JPH06320882A 1994-11-22 UIRUBAA FUTSUCHINSON
PURPOSE: To inexpensively and surely form a multipage bound booklet and to fasilitate handling by a method wherein paper sheets are folded along fold lines provided at the central parts of the papers and pressure-sensitive adhesive layers are piled and pressed to perform pressure sealed binding. CONSTITUTION: Paper sheets on which pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 20 strips are formed along their centerfold lines 18 are assembled and folded together and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers 20 are activated by pressure and are solidified and bound together into a booklet. In addition, the second pressure-sensitive adhesive layers 26, 26' and 26" are not duplicated on the first pressure-sensitive adhesive layers 20, 20' and 20" and the pattern of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers are strips parallel to the fold lines 18. Practically, folding is performed in such a way that the faces of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers 20 face on both sides along the fold lines 18 and pressure is applied to activate and bond them and to form a booklet 30. In addition, two paper sheets 12 are used and are matched in such a way that the faces of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers 20 on both sides face each other and are folded and bound each other to form the booklet 30.

64 Method and system for the production of variable-dimensional printed substrates EP09173632.2 2009-10-21 EP2179861A3 2016-04-06 Gombert, Barry G.; Rose, Philip; Prakhya, Sri Hemanth

A method and system for generating a customized, printed, three-dimensional object accesses a data record for a selected recipient and prints objects on a substrate based on the data record. The method and system then generates die lines based on the data record, and finishes the substrate by cutting, perforating, creasing, folding or otherwise finishing the substrate along the die lines to yield a customized, three-dimensional printed object.

65 FLAT READING PRODUCT SUPPORTING INTERACTIVE LINKAGE SYSTEM EP14760837.6 2014-03-04 EP2966843A1 2016-01-13 Yau, Yim Wai

The invention involves information association technology of cross-media product, in particular to a plane publication product of an Interactive Interconnected Systems. The plane publication product is formed by associated data and media information data synthesis. The features are:

The Interactive Interconnected Systems is a composite of an electronic reading device and an electronic transmitter-receiver.

A plane publication product contains others publication information.

The Interactive Interconnected Systems includes an electronic reading device and an electronic transmitter-receiver. The multimedia information signal is a combination of various media data. The associated data is an URI (Uniform Resource Identifier). The electronic transmitter-receiver includes an associated data reception circuit, an associated data transmission circuit and a central processing unit (with memory).

The associated data reception circuit is attached with a short-distance signal transmission-reception circuit. The electronic transmitter-receiver is used to control the transceive of the associated data from the decomposition multimedia information signal. It receives the associated data decomposed by the transmission circuit of the electronic reading device, and then transmits the associated data to external data storage via remote communication technology. This can obtain the associated digital resource in a quick and efficiency way.

73 Method and apparatus for high speed mounting and printing of colored chips on a sheet EP04012713.6 2004-05-28 EP1481815A1 2004-12-01 Winter, Steven; Lerner, Stanley I.

A method and apparatus use an in-line printer to print on chips or swatches (12) mounted on an underlying substrate such as a sheet or web of paper or paperboard. The chips may have varying heights due to variations of thickness of the paint on the chip and/or adhesive mounting the chips to the substrate. The sheets are continuously moving through the chip mounting machine and the printing machine which are synchronized to operate at the same speed. In the illustrated apparatus, conveyor pushers push the sheets (10) through the chip mounting machine (15) and through the printer machine (22) and resilient strips on the printing roller form a nip with an underlying anvil roller (72) to grip and hold the chips (12) against shifting to prevent smearing of the ink as the sheets are pushed through the nip between the printing cylinder and the anvil roller. An in-line trimming apparatus (24) such as die cutter may cut the chips (12) to size and/or shape as to provide rectangularly mounted chips with arcs, curves, circles, etc. The trimmed scrap from a trimmed chip is removed by a vacuum conveying system. In the illustrated apparatus, an in-line folder may fold the printed chip bearing sheets to complete the illustrated in-line apparatus and method.

A children's book (1) include a front cover (5), a back cover (10), and at least one leaf (15) positioned between the front cover and the back cover. A spine portion (20) of the book connects the front cover, the leaf and the back cover. The bok further includes at least one attachment arrangement (30) and at least one rotation member (25). The front cover, the leaf, and/or the back cover has at least one cut-out portion (35). The rotating member (25) is rotatably connected to a respective front cover, back cover and/or leaf by positioned within the cut-out portion using the attachment arrangement (30) so that the rotating member is rotatable about an axis extending along a plane of the book.

77 A PERFORATING BLADE AND SIGNATURE EP95933889 1995-09-07 EP0785873A4 1997-12-29 FOSTER THOMAS; MICHALK RODNEY; SUMMERS SCOTT
A perforating blade (10), and signature (32) produced therewith, having a unitary blade (12) that is very narrow in width in proportion to its length, with a cutting edge (16) along one longitudinal side. The cutting edge (16) comprises a combination of a number of spaced-apart straight (22) and angled (20) sections arranged so that the angled sections (20) angle inwardly toward a center point (18) on the perforating blade and along a single side of the cutting edge only. Since the angled sections (20) are all angled to the same side of the blade, the resulting fold line (26) has cuts only on one side (29) thereof. The angled cuts result in ties (28) that twist easily, and that, therefore, result in fold lines (26) that fold cleanly without gusseting or binding.
