PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a readily producible annular metal cord and endless metal belt having excellent breaking strength.
SOLUTION: The annular cord has an annular core part 3 and an outer layer part 4. The annular core part 3 is formed by bonding both ends of a first strand material 1 prepared by laying six first metal wires 5. The outer layer part 4 is formed by helically winding a second strand material 2 obtained by laying six second metal wires 6 six turns around the annular core part 3. The second strand material 2 is wound at a prescribed winding angle relatively to the central axis of the annular core part 3. The winding starting end part is bonded to the winding terminal end part. Since six second strand materials 2 are not wound but the second strand material 2 is wound six turns, only one second strand material 2 is sufficient and the number of the binding site is one. As a result, the breaking strength of the annular metal cord can be increased and production can be facilitated.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT

PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive producing method for producing a metallic composite wire rod provided with a hard core material difficult to be deformed and a soft coated material and having almost endless length, to surely obtain the good roundness of the wire at the producing time and to secure the uniformity and the concentricity of the core. CONSTITUTION: A rod made of a hard material is inserted into a pipe made of a soft material and a two-material composite having intermediate size reduced by at least 50% to the cross section, is formed by hot-rolling and drawing. Subsequently, another pipe made of a soft material is fitted onto the two- material composite and a three-material composite formed in this way is drawn to this final size by hot-rolling or cold-rolling and successive cold-drawing.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ultra low permeation hoses for preventing or reducing leakage and/or permeation of vapor and/or gas.SOLUTION: An ultra low permeability fluid member for conveying a fluid (e.g., a hose, tube, etc.) has a metal vapor barrier layer (22) formed around an inner tube (14). The metal vapor barrier layer (22) is formed from one or more metal strips (40a, 40b) having edge portions (44) that are bonded so as to seal the vapor barrier layer (22) preventing permeation of vapor.
