When the front wheels 2 of the wheelchair go onto an escalator, a control part 41 causes the front brake 33 to brake the front wheels 2, and causes the drive motor 6 to stop the drive of the rear wheels 3 being driven. SOLUTION: A wheelchair 10 includes a vehicle body 11, a rail 12, and a seat 13, and can hold the position of the seat 13. The rail 12 has a front rail part 12a, a rear rail part 12c, and a center rail part 12b and is secured to the vehicle body 11. The front and rear rail parts 12a, 12c are circular.
