At that time, the operating part 52b of a stop member 52 comes into contact with the ground so that the member is turned and the operating part is disengaged from an operating rod 48. After that, the operating rod 48 comes into contact with the ground so that the rod is pushed up and a wheel stop plate 8a is turned down against a torsion spring 56. As a result, a wheelchair can be put on the platform 8 or taken away therefrom.

Throughout the period of closure of the door 2, the open/close and the up/down cylinders are kept from acting when the lift switch 16 is operated, to prevent the door and the lifter from being damaged.
