30 Thermal protector JP14478590 1990-06-01 JPH0436918A 1992-02-06 UEDA KENSAKU
PURPOSE: To eliminate risk of burn damage even though a thermal protector concerned is used in a variety of electric apparatus, embody the protector in a small size, and equip the protector with electric ratings at approx. the same level by allowing a glass vessel to accommodate a mounting piece, to which a stationary side electrode and a movable side electrode are secured using glass frit bead, wherein the movable side electrode is equipped with a snap action type thermo-response operating element approaching or going apart from the movable side electrode while positioned as facing it, and sealing the opening in the glass vessel with the bead through melting of the glass frit. CONSTITUTION: The opening in a glass container 8 is sealing with a glass frit bead 7, wherein a stationary side electrode and a movable side electrode are formed consolidated, by melting glass frit. Owing to the seal part thus formed, the glass container 8 can be shortened, and also the sealing be performed in low temp. range. Therefore, the distance of a snap action type thermo-response operating element 5 from the seal part 9 of glass container can be shortened compared with a thermal protector of conventional structure. As a result, the overall length of the glass container 8 can further be shortened, and the contour be suppressed into small size. COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reed switch capable of using a reliable and adaptable laser with low cost and economical at energy consumption.
SOLUTION: Radiation energy ray 21 is locally irradiated during a specific period toward at least one part P of metal reeds 5, 7 through a tube 3 in order to adjust a switch gap at the part where the metal reeds 5, 7 inserted into a glass tube 3 are overlapped. By the above, a thermal bending is created around one part P of the reeds 5, 7. Here, a radiation source generating radiant energy having a range of wavelength absorbed in considerable amount, is used. The radiant energy ray is focused and quantified so that the proportion of at least one irradiated metallic area of the reeds 5, 7 to the irradiated volume of the glass of the tube 3 may cause a temperature increase of less than 100 kelvin to the temperature of the glass, during the period necessary for heating the metal up to a melting point.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

PURPOSE: To enable the precise setting of a contact surface in a desired direction without processing a lead wire of a lead switch, by forming a uniform magnetic field having a predetermined direction and placing the lead switch, which is rotatably held in a support housing, in this uniform magnetic field. CONSTITUTION: A uniform magnetic field having a predetermined direction is formed and a lead switch 23, which is rotatably held by a terminal 25 provided in a support housing 21, is placed in the uniform magnetic field. After the lead switch 23 is rotated in the desired direction, the holding portion is fixed. Namely, a contact of the lead switch 23 is magnetized so that a torque for rotating the contact is produced. Accordingly, the lead switch 23 is rotated about a lead wire as a central axis and rests at a position where the direction of the contact coincides with that of the magnetic field. Thus, if the direction of the uniform magnetic field is set in the desired direction, the contact surface of the lead switch can be set in the desired direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio

PURPOSE: To prevent evagination phenomenon of a lead switch from generating by irradiating the portion adjacent to an upper end portion of a sealed glass tube with a laser spot by transferring the spot in upward or downward direction. CONSTITUTION: An upper lead piece 1 is arranged at the upper end portion 31 of a sealed glass tube 3. The portion adjacent to the upper end portion 31 is irradiated with a laser spot 41 by sequentially transferring it in longitudinal and upper directions. The upper end portion 31 of the sealed glass tube 3 is thus unified its melting temperature by the laser spot 41 so that a melt glass has surface tension, which is enough endurable against gas pressure from inside the sealed glass tube. Therefore, evagination phenomenon is not generated at the upper portion of the sealed glass tube. Usually, by stopping transfer of the laser spot at an irradiation starting point A or an irradiation ending point B, heat needed to seal the lead piece and that for maintaining the surface tension of the melt glass are balanced each other to have best condition. PURPOSE: To prevent the inner surface of a vessel from contacting with No.1, No.2 reed pieces by providing the stationary side pinching part of a chuck separated a certain distance previously from the No.1, No.2 reed pieces, inserting the vessel with the No.1, No.2 reed pieces as the center, and by returning it to the original position. CONSTITUTION: A chuck 25 used is composed of a stationary side pinching part 25a arranged in the support position of a vessel 23 and a movable side pinching part 25b mating with the first named pinching part 25a. Prior to supply of vessel, the stationary side pinching part 25a is previously moved a certain distance to outside from the vessel 25 supporting position. The vessel 23 is threaded to outside the No.1, No.2 contacts 21a, 22a, and the stationary side pinching part 25a is restituted to the original position, and the vessel 23 is supported in a specified position with the stationary side pinching part 25a and movable side pinching part 25b. This prevents the vessel 23 from contacting No.1, No.2 reed pieces 21, 22 when the vessel is being inserted. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
