【解決手段】クロマチックハーモニカ1のリードプレート5に発熱体を接触させ、この発熱体を電源によって加熱することにより発生する発熱体の熱をリードプレート5に伝え、リードプレート5を加熱昇温する。 これにより、リードプレート5の温度を概ね体温程度まで上げて吹く息とリードプレート5の温度差を少なくすることで結露を抑える。 発熱体は、コの字形にしてクロマチックハーモニカ1底面からリードプレート5の外面を挟み、発熱体の熱を接触面からリードプレート5に伝える方法(外付け型)、本体内部に組み込んで内面からリードプレート5を加熱昇温する方法(内蔵型)、等の方法がある。

The present invention enables the sterilization and drying of the mouthpiece and reed of a wind instrument to protect the mouthpiece and reed from bacteria, offensive odors, corrosion or the like caused by the breath or saliva of a player, and thus protecting the health of the player and providing a comfortable environment for playing the wind instrument. To accomplish the above-described aim of the present invention, a device of the present invention comprises a case which has a predetermined shape and is divided into an upper unit and a lower unit. The upper unit is equipped with an ultraviolet lamp or an ultraviolet LED (light-emitting diode) such that the ultraviolet lamp or the ultraviolet LED is powered and emits light when power is supplied thereto so as to sterilize and disinfect the mouthpiece and reed. The lower unit is equipped with a reflector (a metal plate, mirror or the like), and accommodates a mouthpiece and a reed such that the ultraviolet rays emitted by the upper unit can be applied to the rear surfaces of the mouthpiece and the reed to thereby remove moisture and offensive odors remaining on the mouthpiece and reed after playing the wind instrument. The lower unit of the plastic case is equipped with an A/C power source or a battery as means for supplying power to the ultraviolet lamp.

According to the invention, a mouthpiece (1) for a clarinet, saxophone or suchlike instrument with a single reed now displays the feature that the tone chamber (3) has, grosso modo, the form of a constricted teardrop, that the reed (11) at the point of construction of that chamber displays at least one hole (5) and that in the transitional zone between the tone chamber (3) and the resonance tube (10) there is located a, placed on a stalk (22) and embodied as a polyhedron, acoustic member (21).
