152 CONTACT LENS FOR CORNEA-CORRECTION CROSSLINKING, CORNEA-CORRECTION CROSSLINKING METHOD, AND RING-SHAPED CONTACT LENS EP14863215.1 2014-11-17 EP3073316A1 2016-09-28 Mitsui, Iwane

In a contact lens for corrected-cornea crosslinking 10, a relief region 20 constituted by a concave portion and a pressing region 18 constituted by a convex portion are formed on a side of the lens in contact with a cornea 12 of a patient. When these regions are pressed to the cornea 12 to change a shape thereof, and a curvature of the concave curved-surface to be formed on the cornea 12 is defined as Ro and a curvature of the convex curved-surface of the pressing region 18 is defined as Rs, Rs is set, for example for correcting myopia, to satisfy Rs = R0 + 5.0D to R0 + 10.0D. When the contact lens 10 having such a configuration is used for correcting the cornea and fixing the corrected state by crosslinking, the shape of the cornea can be accurately formed.

A frame with an outer lens having a slit that stagnantly sealingly conforms to the user' s face to create a stagnant air barrier that creates air resistance against airborne particles entering the slit, traversing the interior space, and then contacting the user's eyes. The user can see through the slit even if airborne particles deposited on the outer lens obscure the user's vision. Alternatively, a frame with an outer lens having slits for a user's eyes and a protective inner lens having transparent portions has an inlet communicating with the interior space created between the inner and outer lenses. A portable compressed air source introduces compressed air into the interior space to create an air stream that flows outwardly through the slits. The air stream prevents airborne particles from entering through the slits and into the interior space and contacting the inner lens, to maintain transparency. The user can carry the compressed air source and move freely.
156 MULTI-SENSORY MANIPULATION EP12811074.9 2012-07-11 EP2732635A1 2014-05-21 YOO, Herb; REICHOW, Alan
Aspects of the present invention relate to a multi- sensory manipulation system. The multi- sensory manipulation system is useable to train one or more senses through the manipulation of one or more sensory inputs as perceived by a user. The multi- sensory system may be used train a variety of senses, such as vision, hearing, olfactory, taste, touch, and the like. Consequently, the multi-sensory system may be comprised of a first sensory vitiation device that vitiates a sensory input for the first sense. The multi-sensory system may be comprised of a first sensory vitiation driver that generates vitiations instructions useable by the first sensory vitiation device. The multi-sensory system may also be comprised of a controller to coordinate one or more sensory drivers and/or one or more sensory vitiation devices to allow for the training of one or more senses through the manipulation of multiple sensory inputs.

Eyewear having an eye shield of mesh where the mesh has been formed by chemical etching is disclosed. The chemical etching involves the steps of applying a protective coating to a suitable sheet material, creating openings in the protective coating, and subjecting the sheet material to a suitable liquid such that mesh spaces are formed at the openings. In other embodiments of the invention the sheet may be exposed to a gaseous acid or an alkali.
159 Adjustable spectral transmittance eyewear EP12151639.7 2012-01-18 EP2479600A1 2012-07-25 Reichow, Alan; Brown, Jonathan; Hanif, Umar; Yoo, Herb

Embodiments of the present invention relate to eyewear having an electrically switchable spectral transmittance lens(es). The eyewear includes a lens driver that controls the variable spectral transmittance lens(es). The lens driver is functional to alter a duration of a spectral transmittance state based on a desired frequency and/or duty cycle of the spectral transmittance state. A user may provide an input indicating the desired level of difficulty provided by the eyewear, wherein the input may indicate that the frequency, the duty cycle, or a combination of the two should be changed. As a result of changing a perceived level of difficulty presented by the eyewear, a wearer of the eyewear may train his or her visual abilities to provide a competitive advantage
