<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rock bit capable of reducing a surface pressure from a pit wall and suppressing the occurrence of vibrations. <P>SOLUTION: According to a first embodiment, the rock bit includes a bit body having a journal, a cone capable of rotating relative to the bit body, a bearing between the cone and the journal, and a seal disposed between the cone and the journal to seal up the bearing; the cone has a gauge surface which comes into contact with the sidewall of a pit; and the gauge surface is covered with a diamond composite material, which is preferably spread widely and smoothly over the gauge surface. In a second embodiment, the bit body is provided with a ring bit disposed on its outer periphery. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reamer of a ground drill capable of controlling the increase of pull-in resistance of the reamer to a buried pipe in the case of pulling-in and efficiently carrying out pull-in work of the buried pipe without lowering flexibility and rotation characteristics.
SOLUTION: The reamer of the ground drill includes an approximately conical reamer body 8 shortening a diameter toward to a pull-in side and a rod connecting section 24 provided to the end section of a narrow diameter of the reamer body 8 and connected to a rod 3. The reamer body 8 is connected to the buried pipe 1 through a connecting structural body 7 placed to the opposite side to the rod connecting section 24. The connecting structural body 7 has a swivel joint 34 allowing the rotation of the reamer body 8 to the buried pipe 1, and the relevant part of the swivel joint 34 is mostly stored in the reamer body 8.
