<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle accelerator pedal device which prevents deceleration delay of a vehicle during brake pedal operation, and permits accelerator operation during depression of the brake pedal by a simple construction. <P>SOLUTION: In the vehicle accelerator pedal device, an accelerator pedal arm 4 and a throttle lever of an engine are connected to each other by a throttle cable 7, and the engine speed is controlled by the depression operation of the accelerator pedal 1. The throttle cable 7 is formed of a pipe-shaped outer cable 7a and an inner wire 7b slidably inserted therein. The accelerator pedal arm 4 and one end of the inner wire 7b of the throttle cable 7 are connected to each other relatively movably. An end portion of the outer cable 7a closer to the accelerator pedal arm 4 is movable according to the operation of the brake pedal 2. <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unlocking device of a new structure for dealing with operating errors through a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: The unlocking device for unlocking a top plate 21 which is exerted with a driving force as it is unlocked is composed chiefly of an operating lever 13, the operating range of which consists of an operating range Z2 directly associated with the unlocking and a free-moving range Z1 provided from a standby position 13 (A) to the operating range Z2 to allow the lever to move freely therein without affecting the locked state of the top plate 21. The direction of movement of the operating lever 13 at least in the standby position 13 (A) during initial movement is opposite to the direction of movement of the operating lever 13 after the lever has entered the operating range Z2.
